Chapter one

Thank you.", Kyle said as Mrs. Louis handed him a cup of tea. She smiled, and sat down. Sipping her own small cup. They sat there in silence. Kyle promised Travis that he'd wait to do the interview for when he got there. They were a normal set of brothers. They both valued each other's company and enjoyed spending time together. Although they were normal brothers they had very unusual talents. As Kyle, and Mrs. Louis sat in silence and waited for Travis, Kyle listened carefully. He didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. Just Mrs. Louis' uneven breathing. He took another sip of tea and set his cup down. "He should be here shortly." He said trying to cover his annoyance up with a smile. She just sipped her tea. "Oh, there he is now." He said looking at the door. "I don't hear anything." Mrs. Louis said with a pause. "Maybe you hear one of the neighbors or a car or something." Then all of a sudden a loud bang hit the front door. Lucas, their assistant, and Travis come busting through the door. Lucas coming in first is holding two small heavy boxes and holding his forehead as if he just hit it. "That's what you get for being a rude little punk." ,Travis says, with a straight face. He walks over to Mrs. Louis and introduces himself. "Hi, Mrs. Louis. Sorry about the wait and the bust in."He says, smiling. "I'm Travis, and this rude fellow is our assistant, Lucas. He helps us set up everything and in exchange we give him food. He's practically our little brother." Travis said jokingly. "Hi, how are you?" Lucas said putting the boxes down and shaking her hand. She examined the young boy. He was clearly younger then the twins. Maybe early 20's. She knew for a fact that Travis, and Kyle were 24. Maybe Lucas was 19 or 20. He had short brown curly hair. He was wearing a dark leather jacket. It was fitted on him. He had on a baggy grey t-shirt. Then some dark jeans. He looked at her and smiled when shaking her hand. She felt her blood rush to her cheeks. She could have only imagined the bright red they were becoming.
"So Mrs. Louis-" "Please, call me Jessica." "...So Jessica, when did things around the house get strange?" Travis asked. "Where should I even start?" She asked, staring at the floor. "From the first occurrence." "Um. Well, I suppose it would be when Mercy started acting up in school... The teacher said he started day dreaming in class, but i didn't think much of it. Maybe he just didn't get sleep that night. Then it got worse." She took a sip of her tea. Staring at the murky liquid. "He punched a little boy... In his face. He's six. He's only in the first grade! When I asked why he did it, he just smiled and said, 'cause it felt good momma.' With a sinister tone. It scared me half to death. I didn't even know what to do. I still don't know what to do. He's my little boy." She spit the words out between sniffles. Kyle got up from his chair, walked around the small coffee table and sat next to Jessica, comforting her. Kyle looked at Travis who was building up the courage to say something. He felt bad for asking since she was crying. "Mrs. Louis, would it be okay with you if I saw Mercy?"
She wiped her soaking face with her cardigan sleeve. "Yes, of course. He's up in his room. I'll show you the way." She stood up from her seat, and started heading for the stairs. She got to the top of the stairs, and stopped. Waiting for the three young boys to go in, and examine her six year old little boy. The boys walked in, and see a small child, facing away from them. "Um, honey these men are here to talk to you for a little. I told them how great you are, and they wanted to meet you." Jessica said, nervously. He didn't reply he just sat there staring at his wall.
"Hi, mercy." Kyle said taking a small step closer towards him. "My name is Kyle and this is my brother Travis." He said inching himself closer to the unresponsive child. "Honey, these men have come a long way to come see you. Be a gracious host and at least say hello." A pause of silence swept over the room. No one moved or said a word. "Hello." The child said. Kyle looked at his brothers. The child's voice was off. It seemed low, and intense. The same way an old man would. "Mercy?" His mother said, voice shaking. "Yes, mother?" He said in the same voice. "Are you feeling alright sweetheart?" She said literally shaking now. Mercy began to slowly turn his torso to look at the four of them. "Of course mother. I'm just bein' a gracious host. Like you said. Mommy does know best." The little boys words slipped from his mouth like a snake. Each word for raspier then the last. By the last sentence you would have figured there really was an angry old man in the room. After slapping his mother in the face with her own words he began to laugh. Then slowly turned back, and laughed once more. Staring at the wall in the process. She began to burst out in tears. She collapsed to the floor. Her hands held against her face. She sat there, and prayed softly. "Holy mother..." She began.    Travis stepped forward, and pulled a small crucifix out of his pocket. He also pulled one that was tucked under his shirt. He kneeled down and got next to Mercy. He started to put the necklace around him when Mercy began to slowly turn his head and stare at him. Using his fingers Travis made a small cross on Mercy's chest. Once he was done Mercy turned his head back and stared at the wall. Travis looked at Kyle. Kyle, and Lucas both had scared looks on their faces. "What?" Travis asked. Travis' crucifix was in the air being pulled. It had looked like someone was choking Travis with it. Travis was thrown back. Hitting the wall, and collapsing
