Chapter 2; The game

7 years passed-

Hailey's POV;

"Hailey! Come and sit with us" Tessie and Tammi said together. Our lunch table was the table for average people, not popular nor unpopular. Tessie and Tammi were my 2 best friends in high school, we were always together and no one could separate us apart.

"Sure, I would love to" I said with a smile.

I was just about to settle down and eat my pepperoni pizza when someone said, " Make way! Kane Murray is here." Kane Murray was the biggest player in the school, just like any other typical player, hurting girls feelings after being laid, never had been in a decent relationship before. But I have to admit, those green eyes, dark hair, black leather jacket, skinny jeans, would make any girl melt on the spot.

Oh great, Just great. I thought to myself.

Just then, as he was about to make his way to the popular table, he spotted me.

Kane Murray actually spotted me.

He gave me one of his signature smirks, and walked towards me. " OH MY GAWD, Kane is coming!" Tessie and Tammi was fangirling over Kane. I can't believe it.

"Hey there, um... Hailey?"  He smirked.

"What do you want Kane?" I sounded a little irritated.

Tessie's and Tammi's eyes were glued to our conversation, as well as the other students.

"Hailey Perez, I dare you to play a game with me, the rules is th-"

" Look, I do not want to play any of your stupid games, I would be happy enough if you would just leave me alone" I interrupted him.

"Shut up and listen will ya?" He glared at me.

Chill Hailey, Chill, there is no reason to get angry over this kind of guy.

"Alright, i'm listening" I said.

He smirked, seeing that I was so obedient and listening to him, usually, no one would dare to interrupted Kane when he is talking.

"So the game goes like this, we act like a couple, we sweet talk, play fight, talk 24/7, take long walks together, go on dates, kiss and hug. Whoever falls in love with the other person first, loses.What do you say, Hailey? " He winked.

"W-What.." I stuttered.

The whole cafeteria went silent, no one dared to utter a word when Kane is waiting for my response. I didn't know what to say, I was shocked, I so did not expect someone like Kane Murray to dare me to a game like this, I was just an average girl, I wasn't pretty, wasn't popular, all I was good at was studying.

"So, what is your answer?" Kane asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"Um... A-About that..."

I could feel many pair of eyes on me, some of the girls were glaring at me, like they would burn me to death if I dared to say yes to Kane. I didn't know what to say.

"Forget your answer, you are going to accept the dare and that is final" He smirked and left the cafeteria, leaving all the other girls glaring at me with their fearful eyes.

I still couldn't believe it, Kane Murray, most hottest and popular guy in school, asked me to play a game like this with him. What could get any worse.
