Castiel was bound and determined to fly.

You see, he had a plan. He would run to the edge of the sky, and jump off. Surely enough, his useless wings would have to realize what they're good for and start working before he reached the ground, otherwise known as impending doom.

Sure, that would make him a fallen angel, but that's nothing new. He was always the rebellious one, the one who likes men. Castiel had always heard talk of angels being cast down from heaven due to their sexualities, and so he assumed that there must be quite a few attractive men down there.

Earth. A fantasy to Castiel. A place where no one judged, because everyone is as broken as he is. A land where there is no Heavenly Father with high expectations and no reprimanding.

The wind stung at nipped at Castiel's cheeks as he ran across the sky, clouds gathering at his feet. He flexed the muscles in his navy blue wings and stretched the large appendages out as far as he could. Suddenly, the clouds stopped forming and the edge of the sky came into view.

Castiel closed his eyes and jumped.

He could feel his feet lift off the ground, and not touch back on. The wind rushed around him in a very unpleasant way, his clothes billowing out beside him as he fell.

Castiel flapped his wings uselessly. He could feel himself turning around until he was plummeting towards the Earth head-first. The wind pushed against his wings, making it difficult to move them at all.

Castiel slowly pried his eyes open. He could see small houses, as well as green lawns and a street bustling with cars. The picturesque neighborhood grew closer and closer, and Castiel screwed his eyes shut just as the world went black.
