-Tatum-

Have you ever wondered what you're doing with your life? How everyone's life would be without you?

Moments away from my alarm ringing, I lay wide awake in my mattress that feels like cloud, wondering if I've done anything to make my father proud.

Is there a reason why I'm on this planet? Wait! There's a reason for everything so I must have a reason. What is it?

Beep! Beep! Beep!

My irritating alarm rings. To stop it, I quickly unplug the cord and walk over to my bay window. I carefully open the window making sure not to make any noise then...

Bang!

I threw it out the window knowing it would drive my mom insane.

Why would I want to drive her insane you ask? Well the reason being is that she ruined my life. Well not technically.

See, after my father's devastating death on a car accident, she decides to move. After two months. Two freaking months!

We could of moved right after his death, not after I made two real friends!

Yes, I only have two friends, is that sad?

I shut the window as loud as possible making sure to irritate my mom.

"Tatum!! What the hell was that?!" She screamed. The walls are very thin I tell you.

"Oh, you know! Just throwing my clock out there!" I yelled back.

"Young lady! You better not have thrown your clock out the window again!!" She screamed as she walked into my room.

To be honest with you, she looked like a complete raccoon. Her makeup was running, her dirty blonde hair was a complete disaster, and she had dry tears on her cheeks.

Was she crying again?

"Too late." I replied.

"What is your issue Tatum! You have turned into a complete rebel. Is this because of your fath-" I cut her off.

"Don't bring dad into this, I haven't turned into anything. If anything, you should be thanking me that I'm leaving you alone. Your the one that's coming to me and can't keep your life together." I said with frustration clearly written across my face.

I fell back on my bed with my panda onesie on and my hair in a messy bun.

"Tatum! Why have you been acting like this?! I haven't done anything to you!" She yelled as she threw her hands in the air. Can't she get a hint that I don't want her here?!

I know she's my mom but she's never been good at it. By that I mean that she's always doing something with fashion shows. But she's taking a break since my dad... You know.

"Are you joking?! Haven't done anything to me?! You told me we were moving after I made real friends, mom! You know how hard that is! And yet you can't find a way to fix your life or something?" Was I a little too harsh?

"I don't care! Don't talk to me like that! I'm your mother!"

"Not a good one!" Word just kept spilling out of my mouth.

"We're moving whether you like it or not, get everything packed and be ready to leave tomorrow In the morning." She said before walking out of what used to be my room.

All I got to do is put everything in cardboard boxes and its no longer mine.

Why is my life difficult?
Why can't I be normal?
Why is everything messed up?
Why do I have to move?
Why did my dad have to die?

As all these questions ran through my head, I realized I was crying. I packed everything up and waited.

What can go wrong in Virginia?
