She was still that lost, depressed girl,
that he met a couple years ago.
"Happy," but her life still in that swirl
Be like everyone else and let her go

She is tired of being here
It's a depressing sight
She's ready to go now, is she clear?
Be like everyone else and let her see that light

But... he's not everyone else
He wants her to stay
He helped her love herself
Now he always made her day

But it just wasn't enough
He was the only reason she was alive
She knew she wasn't so tough
All she could think about is wanting to die

Weeks past, and she did the deed.
He wept at the note she left.
He knew it was her he still need,
Days past, and he still hasn't slept

"Why didn't you let me go," she whispers.
"Because I need you to hold on to," he said
They held each other as the air got crisper
He cried himself to sleep in the bed he laid.

"I will never forget you my love,"
He whispered as he drifted.
She was his little dove,
it was like his soul was lifted.

Her note read: I couldn't hold on
any longer, it was eating me alive.
I hate to leave you, I know I was your sun
But the voices kept telling me to die.

I loved you from the moment we met.
My love for you grew stronger day by day.
With you, my life was almost set.
You're half my soul, as the poets say.

"You're always my little dove,"
he said as he looks up to the sky,
with wrists slit, to join her above,
so their love could never die.
