"Holy shit." I said as the driver pulled up to the school. The building was old, but beautiful. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of kids milling around the front, like lost ducklings.
The cab driver laughed a bit, "I drop at least one kid off here every year, they always say that." I smiled, and chuckled awkwardly at that. I don't really know how to respond. "Okay kid, that's $26." I handed him the money, and slipped out of the car, making sure to thank him first. I grabbed my suitcases out of the back and started walking towards the school. The place was magnificent, with a cobble stone path and a huge brick building for the students to live in. I'm going to like it here. I took a deep breath in, and out. I was at peace for the first time in a long, long time.
I was having a good day until the angry French person ran into me. They hit me at a dead sprint, sending me back a couple feet, and making me land right on my ass. Fun. I heard a couple of people snicker a couple yards away, but ignored them.
A girl in a sundress came over and held out a hand, and helped me get up. "Hey! I'm Peggy! I'm sorry about Lafayette here." She gestured at the person on the ground. They stood up, and looked at me sheepishly. "Je suis desolee, mon ami." I smiled, which seemed to surprise them. "It's okay, I'm Alexander Hamilton by the way." They smiled, a lop sided grin spread on their face. "Marquis de Layafette."
"So what were you running from?" Their eyes widened, "Oh, merde." At just that time, a powerhouse of a man ran around the corner, and began to yell. "I've got you now, you baguette!" Lafayette gave me a little solute and ran like hell away from him.
I opened my mouth and closed it again, looking at Peggy. She sighed. "That's Mulligan. Whatever they're fighting about will probably end in them making out, don't worry." I laughed, and picked up my bags. Another man ran the way the other two just had, his dark hair messy and his face flushed. "Where-" "Laurens, what the hell?" He raised an eyebrow. "You really want to know?" She nodded and I laughed a bit." "Jackass French person stole my turtle." She bit her lip to stop her from laughing, but I couldn't help myself. I almost fell over again. He let a small smile show, which made his freckles pop. "They went that a-ways." Peggy said, pointing in the way Lafayette and Mullligan just came from. "Thanks Peggy!" And he took off.
"So Alex, what do courses are you in?" Before I could answer her, two girls walked up to Peggy, and smiled at me. "Hey, there's a new face! Freshman?" One of them asked. I shook my head, "Sophomore. Just new." She smiled. "I'm Angelica, this is Eliza-" she pointed to the other girl- "and Peggy." "Alexander Hamilton." Eliza grabbed Peggy's arm, and whispered something in her ear. "I have to go, Alex! Talk later!" And with that I was alone.

Hello, hello! So I've been meaning to do a comedy story for a while now, something I can update every couple days with a funny little story or some fluff and everyone be happy, kind of like a friends or how I met your mother type situation. A college au seemed like the perfect fit. Once all the relationships are established, it'll be more of that style. If you haven't noticed already, Lafayette is non-binary. I just love that, okay?
And hey, if you like this story, and want to see more of it, please like it or comment. It really helps me know if people are enjoying it enough for me to focus on this rather than something else.
