~She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette. She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget. We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time. But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind.~
He couldn't believe it. She was leaving him. She was actually leaving him. "I'm sorry, Gilbert, it's something for my country." Elizabeta told him, tears in her beautiful green eyes. He hated seeing her so upset. Elizabeta blinked away her tears and lightly punched Gilberts arm. "We'll still keep in touch of course!" she said trying to lighten the mood
~Until the night~
As time went on, Prussia couldn't do his daily activities without being reminded of Hungary. He would see her with Austria and she would be smiling. A smile he thought that only he could bring upon her lips.
~He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger and finally drank away her memory. Life is short but this time it was bigger than the strength he had to get up off his knees.~
Germany had just returned from training with North Italy and Japan. "Bruder? Are you still home?" The younger nation called out. When no answer was received, he went to his older brother's room.
~We found him with his face down in the pillow, with a note that said, "I'll love her till I die"~
He found his brother and father-figure on the bed, his white hair and pale face stained with tears and blood. In one hand was a gun. Shocked at the sight, not knowing what to do Germany could only stare in absolute horror.
~And when we buried him beneath the willow, the angels sang a whiskey lullaby. la la la la lullaby la la la la lullaby~
The day of the funeral was very depressing one for everyone who came. Even Hungary came, she had planned to go back with him after the Austria-Hungarian union had ended.
~The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself. For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath~
Life went on, Hungary's feelings for Prussia never faded. She had resorted to drinking most nights in attempt to forget. Jever bottles scattered her room as she read old letters from Gilbert.
~She finally drank her pain away a little at a time, but she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind. Until the night~
Drunk and heartbroken, Hungary sobbed as she read the letters from her now deceased love. If only she had told him her plan for the future. If only she could be held in his arms once more, tell him she loved him once more...
~She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger and finally drank away his memory. Life is short but this time it was bigger, than the strength she had to get up off her knees~
Austria was on his way to check on Hungary. He knew about her feelings for the deceased nation. He reached her house and knocked on the door. "Elizabeta?" he called.
~We found her with her face down in the pillow clinging to his picture for dear life~
Hungary was still in her room, Jever bottles still scattered. Austria soon found the female nation in her room, tears on her face. In one hand she had a razor, in the other she gripped onto Gilbert's letters with a vertical cut on her wrist.
~We laid her next to him beneath the willow. While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby~
Elizabeta's funeral was just as depressing for those who showed. It was held at the same place Gilbert's was, she laid next to her love.
