Dean watched the school nervously from his car. He took a deep breath and opened the door. He wasn't looking forward to his first day at a new school. Especially since it was his senior year. Still, he supposed he'd rather be here than still with his dad. He steeled his nerves and headed into the school. He hardly paid attention during the tour, and didn't even notice who he was sitting next to in history until they leaned over and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hey. I'm Charlie," she said.

"Dean," Dean replied. Charlie nodded.

"Welcome to hell- I mean high school," Charlie said, smiling. Dean smiled back.

At lunch, Dean noticed Charlie sitting at a table with another boy and he walked over and sat next to them.

"Dean, this is Kevin, Kevin, this is Dean from History," Charlie introduced. Kevin nodded.

"Hi Dean," he said.

"Hey." Dean started eating his lunch, but was quickly distracted by a boy who walked past. The boy was wearing a trench coat, skinny jeans, combat boots, and a t-shirt. His messy hair was raven black, and his eyes were crystal blue. Dean stared as he went by, trying not to let his mouth hang open.

"Someone's admiring," Charlie said, her eyebrow raised. Dean blushed.

"Was it really that obvious?" He asked. Kevin snorted.

"You were all but drooling!" Charlie exclaimed. Dean's blush deepened.

"Who is he, anyway?" He asked.

"That's Castiel Novak," Kevin said. "Souix Falls' resident bad boy."

"And their resident bi boy," Charlie chimed in.

"Yeah, he's slept with almost every girl and several guys in this room," Kevin said.

"Jeez, that's gotta be some sort of record," Dean said.

"I'm sure. He never talks, either. He's mute."

"Really? That sucks," Dean said. Kevin nodded.

"Anyway, the moral of the story is don't go near him, no matter how hot he is," Charlie said, raising her eyebrows. Dean watched as Castiel sat at a table alone.

"Why is he alone?" Dean asked. Kevin looked up.

"He always eats alone. He used to sit with Meg Masters, but then she left," he said. Dean nodded.

"Come on, Dean, are you going to talk to your new BFFs for life or are you going to ask questions about Castiel until you're blue in the face?" Charlie asked.

"New BFFs for life?" Dean asked, raising his eyebrow.

"Ignore her," Kevin said. "I do." Charlie stuck out her tongue at Kevin. Dean smiled.

"So tell us about yourself, Dean," Kevin said after a moment.

"Um... well, I have a little brother, Sam. We just moved in with our uncle Bobby, and classic rock, well, rocks," Dean said. Charlie nodded.

"Cool. Is Sam here?" She asked.

"No, he's not in high school till next year," Dean told her.

"Ah. Well- Dean!" Charlie said, snapping her fingers. Dean jumped, turning around.

"What?" He asked.

"Stop staring at Castiel. Yeah, he'd screw you, and then he'd leave before you even had time to leave, and probably take your pants with him just for fun. He's bad news," Charlie said.

"Okay, okay, jeez. I was just looking at him," Dean defended.

"Charlie is very adamant about staying away from Castiel," Kevin said.

"Did he sleep with you?" Dean asked Charlie.

"I was his first, that ungrateful jerk. That was before I realized I didn't want guys anyway," Charlie said.

"Oh. I'm sorry," Dean said. Charlie shrugged.

"I've mostly gotten over it. But I can't let you make the same mistakes I did," she said.

"How about we talk about something else?" Kevin requested. Dean smiled.

"Okay, okay, fine." Dean changed the subject, but he couldn't help but think about Castiel. He was fascinated.
