"But Mom, why do we have to leave so soon? Can't I just finish high school, I mean it's only 3 more years. Starting at a new school as a sophomore is really difficult"

My mom then cuts me off.

"I know that honey, I do. I had to go through it too, but your dad and I really need this company and if that means expanding to more locations then that's what we're going to have to do."

"Whatever. I get it I guess. Just tell me when the moving van gets here..."

A few hours later, I hear someone calling my name.

"Peyton Marie! Moving van is here!"

That's my cue I guess. Time to pack up and move to the ever so wonderful city of Moorseville, North Carolina. Great. I am a city girl, a big city girl at that. I enjoy the bustling sounds of Los Angeles, the casual shopping of Rodeo Drive. I am from Anaheim, and from what I saw in the pictures, Moorseville is nothing like Anaheim. Well, wish me luck.

THE NEXT MORNING

Well, we arrived in Moorseville and all I can see is farms, literally everywhere. I mean don't get me wrong, they're nice houses, big farm houses, but it's not Anaheim. We start unpacking our things and a girl maybe 6-7 years old tugs on my shirt.

"Hi! Are you the new neighbors mama told me about?"

You could hear her adorable country accent intertwined with her cute little girl voice. I kneel down so I could talk to her a little easier.

"Hi there babygirl, yeah we're the new neighbors. My name's Peyton, what's yours?"

"I'm Skylynn Floyd age 7"

"Well, nice to meet you Skylynn Floyd age 7", I say with a giggle.

Just then I hear someone running towards our car and where Skylynn and I were talking. I look up and see a boy, couldn't be more than a year older than me, running towards us with a worried look on his face.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. She told me she wanted to meet our new neighbors, which I'm guessing is you, but anyways I told her to wait for me but I guess she was just a little impatient. I'm really sorry this never happens..."

He keeps rambling on about how Skylynn left without permission or something I think, I couldn't tell ya for sure though. His eyes were so soft and blue, his hair a dark beautiful brown.

"No it's totally fine, she and I were just chatting a little, no big deal." I snapped out of my thoughts just as he was finished rambling.

"Oh okay good. Sorry to bother you, can I help you with your boxes or something?"

"Sure, thank you" I say laughing a little

"So, what's your name anyways new girl?"

He sends Skylynn back to the house and we start bringing in my stuff from the car.

"Peyton"

"What?"

"My name is Peyton."

"Oh" He laughs a little. "I'm Hayes nice to meet you"

"You too. So tell me something Hayes, how many people can possibly live in this little town anyways?"

Hayes and I start talking about all sorts of things and I get the feeling I might actually like it here it this little old farm town after all.
