Dark Love

Chapter 2

Screaming. They were all screaming my name. As if doing so could stop the pain. Or stop Abraham from taking me. There's nothing anybody could do. I accepted that. I turned my head to look at John, who was held in the air his face almost pale. His green eyes still bright and glowing. He tried to scream but nothing came out. He looked at me.His lips didn't move but I could hear them. " I love you." I looked at him. " I love you too." He dropped on the ground, lifeless. I screamed and tears spilled. Abraham laughed. I ran over to him, but was thrown against a tree in the process. Lena was surrounded by fire, her powers didn't matter right now. Ethan was in another ring of fire. They both looked between John and I. This was it. Nothing was stopping Abraham now."

I jolted awake and shot up. Another one. Two nights in a row. This is definitely bad. " You sure you're okay Olivia?" I looked down at John who was laying down. I nodded and he pulled me down next to him.  He brushed my hair out of my face. " I love you." I smiled. " I love you too." He pressed his lips to mine. I laughed and intertwined our fingers together beside me head. He tilted his head to the side and continued to kiss me. He was hovering over me, but I could feel his body shifting downwards, closer to my body. The more we kissed, the harder it became. His body fell on mine and his grip on my hands became tighter. He opened his eyes and his bright green eyes widened. He pulled away from me and ripped across the room, panting as he stood away from me. I gripped the sheets as I was panting also. Like I said. Sometimes, things get too much for me to handle sometimes. John looked up at me, sadness in his eyes. " At least you aren't burning me." John looked at me again, then looked away." But I'm hurting you." I stood up and walked over to him. He took another step back. " I'm fine John. Look at me. I'm fine." He looked at my eyes, sadness still filled his. He looked away again. " I can see it in you Liv. I hurt you. I'm too strong." I shake my head again and reach my hand to touch his. He attempts to move it away but I lock my fingers with his. " No. I love you." He looks at me. Really looks at me. " I love you too. Which is why I can't hurt you anymore Liv." I shake my head. He looks down at the gold bracelet on my wrist. It was his mother's. He gave it to me right before he jumped off the water tower. He thought he was the One Who is Two. We all did. " Stop it John. Why won't you except the fact that I'm not hurt! You aren't hurting me!" He pulls his hand away from mine. " What is all tha screamin about?!"Link bursts into our room. He looks at John, then to me, then back at John. He squeezes his eyes shut. " Are you two doin tha nasty?" I roll my eyes. Only Link would think that. " Cause if you are, be a little quieter." I walk over to him. " No. We aren't. We're fully clothes you dimwit." He laughs and opens his eyes. " Whatever. Lena told me to tell you that she wants you and Rid and all y'all to go out. Somethin like that." I nod and glance back at John, who's staring at me intently. " I'll be down in a minute." He nods and walks away. I walk over to the closet and pull out my casual look. I close the closet door. Right before it closes all the way, I see John turn away from me, ripping and disappearing out of the room. I close my eyes to hold back the tears. 

I walk down the stairs and Ridley and Lena stand up. " We heard all of it." Lena said. I look at her and Ridley. " What are you talking about?" Ridley rolls her eyes. " You aren't a very good liar Mary P." I walk the rest of the way down the stairs and stand in front of them. " We heard what you and John were screamin' about? Link thought y'all were doin the nasty." Ridley clicked her tongue. " Did he hurt you?" I look over at Lena. I shake my head. I may have a small bruise on my hip but that's it. It's not like we really did anything. I don't tell Lena any of this. She just nods and we walk outside. " So Mary P?" I roll my eyes at Ridley. " What were you and John doin' up there anyways?" I freeze for a moment then go back to normal. " Nothing." I lie. Lena laughs. " You were never a good liar Liv." Which is true. I'm the absolute worst liar. " I swear! We weren't doing anything." Ridley un-wraps a sucker from her purse and sticks it in her mouth. Lena puts her hand on my arm and stops walking. Ridley walks ahead of us until she realizes we stopped. She turns around and rolls her eyes. " What are you two doin?!" Lena ignores her and looks at me with wide eyes. " Where'd you get that." She points to my back that is exposed by my tank top. I turn my head only a little to see a bruise that covers my entire left shoulder and I guess it's taking up my back too. I pull the strap of my tank top over my shoulder, my hands brushing the bruise slightly, making me wince. "I don't know. It wasn't John though." The last part was true but I think I know where I got the bruise. Just like Ethan, evidence from the dreams appear in real life. I guess this is from when Abraham threw me against a tree. She looked at me, curiosity and worry filled her eyes. " COME ON!" Ridley yelled. Lena blinked and looked away from me. She started walking and I ran next to her and Ridley. I don't know if I can keep lying.

I hug my knees to my chest as I sit on the steps of Ravenwood. I've been waiting for John ever since Lena, Ridley and I got back. Which was two hours ago. Maybe he's inside? Or maybe he's not coming back. I pushed away the negative thought and stood up, walking up the steps to the door. " I'm not in there." I turned around at the sound of John's deep voice. I took a step forward, expecting him to take a step back. Surprisingly, he ripped and appeared in front of me. Before I could say anything he grabbed my face in his hands and kissed me. It was a gentle and soft kiss. He pulled away and rubbed his thumb over my cheekbone. " I do love you Olivia." I looked up at him. " I love you." I said quietly. His eyes darted to my shoulder and I froze again. " Where did you get that? When did it happen? Where? Olivia?" I pulled away from him. " I bumped into a tree." I lied. He laughed. " You are the worst liar Olivia." I sighed. " I know. But I wasn't lying." I lied again. Why am I lying to everyone I love? My heart tightens as John looks at me with a look I have never seen. Pure. Anger. " Why are you lying to me Olivia?!" He raises his voice. I don't say anything and his beautiful green eyes go dark. " I told you I was hurting you! There's proof!" He gestures towards the bruise. " I'm hurting you too much Olivia!" I hear the door to Ravenwood open and Lena and Ethan run out, Ridley and Link behind them. They all mirror each other's facial expressions. Fright and shock. John has never raised his voice this loud. Or been this angry. " I can't do it anymore Olivia!" He bangs his fist on a tree and my eyes brim with tears. The tree breaks and nearly falls completely off. Lena and Ridley run over to me, and they each grab my arms. I am shocked at Ridley's actions. She looks at me in worry and Lena's the same. "John." Link said. It sounded like a warning. John pulls away from the tree and looks at all of us. " CAN'T YOU SEE I'M HURTING HER!" He glances at me, his eyes darker than ever. Link and Ethan look at me, inspecting me for any sign of abuse. Their eyes stop at the bruise in unison. Ethan's eyes narrow and his fist clenches. Link looks at me in fear and then clenches his jaw and stares at John. " Hot Rod. I wouldn't. You either boyfriend." Ethan and Link ignore Ridley and step in front of all three of us. " LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO HER!" Ethan yells. Lena grips my arm. " WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? YOU MIGHT BE ALL TOUGH BUT YOU DON'T GO AROUND HITTIN' A GIRL!" Now Ridley has a death grip on my other arm. They continue yelling, until Lena shuts them up. " SHUT THE HELL UP ALL OF YOU!" Her hair is curling and they stop fighting. A tear falls down my cheek. Now everyone is fighting because of me. My lies. " Can't you see what you're doing to Liv?" I look at John with glossy eyes. He looks at me and I wipe my tears away. I pull out of Ridley and Lena's grip and I run into the house. " Miss.Durand?" I ignore Macon and run upstairs. I hear shouting through my window and then the door downstairs opens. I dive under the blankets and cry into my pillow. The door to my room opens and the bed sinks. " Tell me the truth." Lena said. I turned around and looked at her. Her own eyes were glossy and red. I can trust her. No you can't. You can't trust anyone but yourself. I ignore my arguments in my head and look at Lena. " It's Abraham." I nearly whisper. Lena stiffens at the name but doesn't show any emotion. " I've been getting the dreams now. Instead of Ethan, it's me now. That's how I got the bruise. Something happened in my dream." Lena glanced at the door and twitched her finger, the door closing automatically. She looked back at me. " Why didn't you tell anyone? You let everyone yell at John for something he didn't do. You could lose him." I nod. " I know." She gets up and walks to the door. I don't warn her to not tell anyone. I know she was kelting Ethan now. " I'm sorry Liv." With that, she walks out of the room.
