The Day Before

Ok so this was the day before torture started. Summer was ending and school came the next day. I was going to be a senior. I hated the thought of going back to see people I didn't even know or just didn't like. I had an exclusive friends list, don't get me wrong I had a lot of friends but not all of the surrounded me 24/7, which I was glad for.

I'm woken up by the sun shining through my window. As soon as my eyes adjust, I look over at my phone to see two text messages from my best friend Natalie and a few notifications from Instagram and Snapchat. I check the time and it's 5:23. I get out of bed and walk to the bathroom to take a shower not even checking what Natalie sent me yet. I take about a 5 min shower, get out, and rap myself in a towel.

I walk out hearing my alarm indicating that it was 5:30. I groan walking over to turn if off, then I go to my drawer. I pull out a pair of socks and a bra and panties set from Victoria Secret. I put it on and rap the towel around my hair. I walkover to my closet and pick out an outfit that consists of a black v-neck a red and blue plaid, flannel shirt to tie around my waist and my high waisted jean shorts. I put them on then put on my white converse. I grab my phone and sit at the edge of my bed. I unlock my phone and reply to the text Natalie sent me 14 min ago. It said...

Natalie: Hey! Last day of freedom do you want to do something ?
Natalie: We should spend the day together and have a sleepover after !!!
I think it over and reply saying...
Lily: Yea! I'll get ready and meet you at your house in less than 30 min. Sound good?
She replies instantly... 
Natalie: Ok, sound great see you soon!!!

I turn off my iPhone 6, putting it in my pocket and walk to the bathroom to dry my hair. I style my thick head of dirty blonde, waist length hair in a French braid. I start applying my makeup when my phone in my back pocket buzzes. I pull it out to check it. When I relies it's from my friend Andrew I open it and it says...

Andrew: My parents are fighting again :( can I come over?
I reply...
Lily: Umm...I'm actually leaving for Natalie's in about 25 min, but you can come over and help me pack and we can head over to her house together if that's ok with you?
He replied a few sec later...
Andrew: Sure, anything to get out of here! See you in 5 min.

Andrew lived across the street and Natalie lived 6 houses down. I finished my makeup and walked downstairs stairs. My dad walks up with a coffee mugs filled with coffee. "Morning." He says with a deep and raspy voice telling me he just woke up a few min ago. "I'm spending the night at Natalie's and I'll be back in the morning and Andrew coming over to help me pack." My dad is not strict AT ALL, he just wants me safe. Taking a sip of coffee he nods and walks away and sits at the island in our kitchen. I follow him and I get a spoon and a bowl. I set them down and get the cereal and milk. I sit down next to my dad and pour my cereal in followed by the milk leaving it out for the twins.

Speak of the devils, after I eat all but two bits they both run down the stairs and frown when they see me already sitting there. I beat them down stairs every day. I don't understand how I manage to beat them all the time and I'm supposedly the one that takes the longest! Even if they do just wake up at 5:45 the could still possible beat me. I take another bit as Trevor and Travis sit down next to me and then I hear a knock on the door.

I shoot up rushing to the door and hug Andrew. He hugs me back but when I pull back I can't help but frown because his eyes were all puffy and swollen possibly from crying over his parents. I pull him back into a hug, I hear him sniff. "I'm sorry you have to go through this." I say sympathetically. He just sniffs again and hugs me tighter. We both release and I grab his hand smiling. I make my way back to my kitchen."Hey, do you want anything to eat or have you already had breakfast?" I say trying to make him happier."Umm...no thanks I ate an apple." He states and I just nod finishing off my cereal. I rinse my bowl out, leaving it in the sink and I walk up the stairs with Andrew close behind.

We walk in and I shut the door, him heading straight for my unmade bed. He fixes the covers and arranges the pillows before he sits down. "Thanks." I say kindly. "No problem." He says obviously feeling better. I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I walk back out and get my PINK gym/duffle bag and set if on my bed. I get my apple computer and the charger then got my phone charger and placed them at the bottom of my bag. I go over to my drawers and get my bikini just in case we go swimming, a pair of socks and another bra and pantie set. I place them in my bag and walk over to my closet getting a pair of gray sleep shorts and gray sleep shirt. I place them in my bag and I go back to my closet for an outfit. I get a comfy maroon shirt with a small white pocket at the top and a pair of jean shorts and I'll wear these shoes again for school.

I look up at Andrew when he starts playing music, before there was just silence so...I walk into my bathroom and grab my makeup bag, curling iron, hair brush, toothbrush and toothpaste and walk back out with all of it in my hands. I place it all in my bag and hear that the song is almost over. I start to dance around forgetting that Andrew was watching me. I wasn't full on dancing, just being silly. But I have danced for 10 years straight and have a lot of experience.  I looked up at Andrew and suddenly remembered he was here the whole time. I grab my Ray Bans and hook them on my shirt. I grab my phone and slip it in my pocket then get my bag."Let's go Andrew." I say as he hops off my bed and follows me down stairs.

"Bye dad, we're headed to Natalie's!" I yell as we reach the door. "Bye, tell Natalie and her parents hello for me!"
He says as I grab my skateboard as does Andrew. "Ok." I say opening the door and exiting. We walk down the steps and skate down the driveway to the street. Two cars pass us on the way to Natalie's and when we get there I knock on the door. I hear footsteps and then the lock unlocks and the doorknob turns. I put a big smile on my face as I see Natalie so does Andrew. I know why he's smiling, he had a crush on her since 5th grade and finally asked her out this summer. "Hey!" We yell at the same time. We give each other a big hug and then she noticed who else was here and gave Andrew a hug too. We go inside and walk through the living room and I see her parents. "Hey Mr. and Mrs. Davidson my dad wants me  to tell you hello for him." I say. "Ok, nice to see you again Lily and Andrew." Mrs. Davidson says with a smile. "Nice to see you too." Andrew and I say in unison before looking at each other awkwardly then everyone started laughing loudly. Natalie starts walking up stairs and we follow her.

We reach her room and walk in. I set my stuff in the corner to see Natalie right behind me. "Do you want to swim!" She says almost jumping for joy. "Yeah sure but what's Andrew going to wear?" I say pointing to Andrew. "He can borrow a pair from my brother." He nods his head going next door to get some swim trunks. "Ok, let's get our swim suits on!" She says with a big grin on her face.

She went to her drawers to get her swim suit and I pull mine out of my bag. Mine are a teal top with dotted line detailing and my bottoms are the same color but very cheeky. Natalie and I got the same but in different colors when we went shopping when summer started. Mine is teal and her's is coral. We put them on and right after I'm done,there was a knock on the door. Seeing I was closest to the door and Natalie still changing, I open the door and look at Andrew. "Are you two ready or do I have to wait another hour." He says in a sarcastic tone with a smile on his face. I laugh at him and I hear a chuckle behind me and Natalie says..."Ok let's just go!" and we all head down stairs.
