"School starts in another week bae, you ready?" Jeremy asked. He was sitting on the bed and Sky was in his arms. Her head was resting comfortably on his chest.
"Yea kind of." She answered nervously. She was staring blankly at the tv in deep thought.
"What's wrong?" he asked. She looked up at him and fake smiled then sat up on the bed. "Bae talk to me. What's wrong?" He asked with a concerned voice.
"I think we should start the school year off as just friends." Those words she just said hit him with shock. She was his first serious & he was in love.
"Why?" He asked. Tears started to form in his eyes.
"I just think it'll be better for the both of us." She was really just worried about her reputation.
Sky was one of the most popular and prettiest girls in school. She dated star quarter back Brandon on and off for 3 years since 9th grade. They separated because he was going to be vacationing across the world for summer break & they haven't talked since then. But she knows once school starts they'll be the IT couple again.
Now Jeremy was in an entirely different group than Sky and Brandon. He's average looking, smart, sweet and never does the extra to fit in or to be known. He wasn't someone all the girls would go crazy over but something about him swooped Sky off of her feet.
"So who you doing this for, Brandon?" Jeremy asked.
"No it's not about him J. I just don't know if I'm ready for the talks and stares right now. Plus I don't know if my friends will even accept you." She was half lying and half telling the truth.
The truth is that she really likes Jeremy but she wants Brandon back. And she's never told any of her friend but 1 about Jeremy. She was big on keeping up appearance.
"Yeah alright." He said getting up gathering his things.
She got up trying to stop him but he threw he hand off of him and left. A tear slipped from her eyes and rolled down her face. She did feel bad but she knew deep sown that it was for the best.
Sky sat on the floor and leaned against her bed. She was starting to have second thoughts and was debating on if she should call Jeremy and take everything she just said back or if she should just leave things the way they are.
Her phone rang and she hurried and answered it thinking maybe it was Jeremy calling her to try to work things out.
"Hello." She happily answered her phone never looking at her caller ID.
"So we still up for the mall today?" He best friend Dalia asked.
"Yeah." She dropped her smile and twirled her hair.
"Ok I was hoping you didn't say no because I'm outside." Her best friend laughed. Sky smiled then looked out of the window. Dalia was sitting in in the car looking up at Sky's room window waving.
"I'm on my way out." Sky smiled shaking her hand then hung up the phone.
She cleaned her face then grabbed her purse and left.
"Oooh I want this shirt it's cute as shit." Sky commented.
"No bitch that is ugly." Dalia said taking it from Sky's hand hanging it back on the rack. Sky playfully rolled her eyes, grabbed the shirts and purchased it anyways along with a few other things for school.
"Then you buy the ugly shit anyways." Dalia laughed. "I guess your new boo changed your taste huh." Dalia smiled. "I'm surprised you're not with him now." She looked over at Sky.
