the issue died down soon after. Gary went back to running man and apologised to the crew and viewers for his irresponsible actions.
this issue also made Ji Hyo and Gary a lot closer. they felt the need to cherish their relationship and Gary promised to protect Ji Hyo and will never leave her again.
Gary felt that his love to Ji Hyo has reached the prime and he wants to propose to her. however, he knew that he needed help. and of course, he turned to his running man family.

that night, they planned out everything. in 3 days time, it was Valentine's Day and that was the day Gary wanted to let Ji Hyo know, she was the love of his life.
within the 3 days, he together with the help of his running man family, set up everything. putting all the lovely flowers and balloons ready. they also prepared the candles that would be put around Gary and Ji Hyo as he proposes to her! oh what a coincidence !! Valentine's Day was a Monday!! Gary told the directors of his plans that he wanted to propose to her after the filming, and hoped that they would help him record down this memorable night. happy that Gary was finally willing to settle his playboy life and get married, they willingly agreed.

filming ended early that day, but ji Hyo didn't know. they pretended that it was part of the filming and told her to get into a car as they head to their next destination. Ji Hyo sat alone in the car together with the pd. they blindfolded her eyes so that she wouldn't know where they were heading to. they also took a long way round so that they can give more time to Gary and the guys as they prepare the candles and make sure everything was right.
as Ji Hyo arrived at the Han river, Gary came personally to help her off the car. he whispered " Ji Hyo its me. don't worry I'll carry you. "
and he lifted her up in his arms as he walked over to the heart shaped candles. he gently put her down and said " mong ji, you can take off the blindfolds now" Ji Hyo couldn't believe her eyes. the usual Han river had suddenly become so beautiful like it was her heaven. filled with the prettiest flowers and balloons !! suddenly, a bunch of people came out, walking towards them. they all held heart shaped boards saying " saranghae" then she realised they were all the running man family and crew !! still shocked at what's going on, she looked at Gary. Gary smiled towards her with an assuring look on his face. suddenly. he kneeled down in front of her. " My dear Mong ji, I hope you liked today's surprise. no it's not part of today's filming.
it's my surprise for you. we have gone through a lot the past few years. from friends to Monday couple to Everyday couple and now I want you to have a place in my home. I want to love you and protect you for all my life. Mong ji, will you marry me?"
Ji Hyo was tearing as she heard every word Gary said. "marry him! marry him! marry him! " running man family and crew were surrounding them shouting for her to agree to him proposal. Gary opened up a small black box, with the ring that they had reserved back in the Macau running man. she couldn't believe what was going on but she knew that all she wanted to do was say yes! however, she was tearing so badly that she could only nod her head. seeing her nod, Gary shouted out loud "YESSS!!!!" and put the ring onto her finger. "GAELI!!!" "Mong ji!!" they hugged each other and kissed passionately in front of everyone.
