The rain was hitting the windows hard and I could barely sleep.I was a light sleeper so the sound definitely kept me up.I just transferred schools and I'm not so excited for tomorrow. I've always hated the first day of school. Having to stand in front of the class and introduce yourself was just plain stupid. Why do teachers even bother making us introduce ourselves when no one listens anyway. At least I'll have a chance to make some new friends. My old "friends" at my old school told me that I was going to hell after telling them I was gay. They beat me until I was bruised and bleeding. They had decided to "beat the gay out of me". Maybe I'll get a chance to restart all over. I've really got to get some sleep tonight. Getting my pillow and putting it over my head kind of blocked out the sound but I still heard the rain knocking on my window softly. My mom had some headphones that could block out the sound so I could use those. I forgot to mention that my mom was extremely supportive of my decisions and said that she loved me no matter what. My dad wasn't so supportive but I didn't care what he had to say. He said he want a "fag" in his home so, my mom and I left. I still visit him during the holidays (my mom forces me to go) but not daily. I got out of bed and went towards my mom's room. I creaked the door open and there were the headphones on the nightstand...right next to her bed. She doesn't like it when I take her stuff without asking so I tried to wake her up.
"Pssssst" I shook her arm lightly. "Mom wake up" Nothing.I shook her arm a little harder and that earned me a pillow to my face.
"Who's there?" she asked while now sitting up and rubbing her eyes. That hit didn't hurt at all but i threw the pillow back on her bed.
"Mom, can i use your headphones i can't sleep because of the rain" I asked hoping she wasn't mad that I woke her up.
"Sure, just don't wake me up like that again or i might accidentally hurt you" she sounded tired. Probably because I did wake her up at like 1 in the morning.
"Okay goodnight" She mumbled a goodnight back and went back to sleep snoring slightly. I walked back into my room and put the headphones on. Once I had put them on i heard nothing. Finally I could sleep. The warm sheets were comfortable and my eyelids were drooping. I slept in peace now.
