Lukas's P.O.V
Dear Journal,
My sister recommended writing in you to vent. I'm probably not going to write in you often,so just be prepared to be neglected, ok? Anyways. I'm Lukas Bondevik, I'm a bit over 17, and here's my story of why I moved to this shitty country. It was on April 20 my parents died in a car crash. It had been snowing, common in Oslo during that time of the year, and they swerved into a telephone pole. We were in shock. My older sister, Lucia, had to start taking care of her younger siblings at 19 while attending university. My younger brother, Emil, and I were able to take on part time jobs to get some extra cash, which helped. Eventually three months later, Lucia decided it was best for us to start over and move due to expenses. June 20 of the next year,we finally arrived in Palm Falls. My sisters were excited about moving to the United States, due to our youngest being 13 and naive PLUS the fact that Lucia's girlfriend lived there. I was not however. I wanted to stay in Norway. Also, so many terrible things happened in America. I was scared for my bisexual sister, as she leaned particularly towards girls (hence the girlfriend mentioned earlier). I knew Americans weren't the most tolerant of the LGBTQ community. Anyways, so we finally got settled in about a week ago in our new house. Lucia was also finally able to meet Agnete after dating for almost a year already, which is good. Well, I'm meeting someone tomorrow. She's supposed to show me around town, along with Agnete's younger brother. She's also not from here originally, which I guess is why Lucia requested her. I'm going to go listen to a few Fall Out Boy songs then go to bed. I unfortunately have to be awake before noon so I need sleep. Night.
I close the small book, and put it on the top shelf of my closet. Nobody'd be able to reach it there. I grab my phone and hit shuffle on my Fall Out Boy albums and listen to about fifteen songs before turning it off and setting the alarm for 9:00 the next morning.
8:45 A.M the next day
Sorina's P.OV
I grab a water bottle from the fridge, downing the whole thing in a minute. I pushed myself too hard on my run this morning, and now my body's paying for it. I toss the plastic bottle into the recycling bin and dash upstairs to shower. I have to show a new student around today, and I don't really want to be gross and sweaty. Sweaty doesn't make a good impression. After letting the water heat up,I step in letting the heat soothe my sore muscles. Even though school starts in two months, they've started practice for the track team which my mom urged me to join. I don't complain though, running helps me stay healthy and keeps my mind off the possible existential crisis I have ever so often. I eventually get out of the shower and dry off, making sure to tightly braid my pastel blue hair. After all, my hair usually looks best after drying in a braid. It gets super wavy, and I like that. My hair finally dries and I'm able to do my bangs, flat ironing them and using a bit of spray to hold them in place. I put on one of my Panic! At The Disco concert shirts along with jean shorts and I'm good to go. I grab my car keys and drive over to Matthias's house. He offered to help me since he already kind've knew the guy, but knowing him, he probably isn't even close to being ready for the tour. A short three minute drive later and I'm proven right when I walk into his room and he's still asleep. "Matthias, get up you lazy bastard. You offered to help me show the new guy around, remember?" I state, pulling the blanket off of him. "Yeah, but sleep's better. Now gimme my blanket." he replies weakly. "No. Get up. It's 9:20, we said we'd meet him at his house at 10. " He sits up in surprise. "Shit, shit shit. Why didn't you tell me? I still need to shower and style my hair and-" I sigh. "Just get the hell up. I'll go ahead and make something to eat while you shower. Now go!" "Thanks Rina, you're the best." He says, running to the bathroom. "Whatever. This wouldn't have happened if you got your lazy ass up when you were supposed to. What do you want?" "Just eggs and toast should be fine. Thanks again." he shouts from the bathroom. I walk downstairs to the kitchen where I'm greeted by his older sister. "Sorina, I just don't understand how you put up with him. I mean, you're willing to make sure he's up, you're making his breakfast. Why?" "Well, when I moved here he was one of the only ones not casting me out. Granted, it was only because he thought he could get me to date him, but still. He didn't treat me any different because I was from another country. Plus, I don't wanna make a bad impression because his lazy ass made me late. Now,do you have any eggs?" "Yeah, they're by the beers." I grab the eggs, milk, some spinach, and shredded cheese and put them on the counter. I get a bowl and fork out,and scramble the eggs. Around 20 minutes later, the breakfast is done and Matthias finally walks downstairs from his shower dressed in a Danish flag tee and jeans. He hurriedly eats, and then we practically run to my car. "Why do you put up with me? I mean,I caused us to be late, and you could've easily just let me be and ruin my reputation for him." "That's what friends do Matthias. Friends don't let friends be a lazy bastard and ruin their reputation. They also don't let them eat food made from their not so good chef skills. You can pay me back by not messing up this tour. Now hush, I almost missed our turn." The rest of the drive passes by quickly and we eventually arrive in front of a two story abode. "This is the address right?" I ask. "Yep, 489 Hovel St." We exit the car, and walk up to the house. I knock, and a girl around 19 with platinum blonde hair tied up in a ponytail greets us. "Oh hello! You must be Sorina. You're the guide right?" she asks, and I notice her Norwegian accent. "Yep, that's me. And you're Lucia right? Matthias and Agnete have told me about you." I reply. "Yes, that's me. Come on in, Lukas is just finishing up getting dressed." The house is clean, but boxes and suitcases are scattered about. I guess they're not completely done unpacking. A few minutes of awkward silence later, the guy I assume is Lukas comes downstairs and Lucia leaves the room. I like his style. He's wearing a Black Parade album tee and skinny jeans, which is usually the type of things I wear, though sometimes paired with short jean shorts instead. He has a really weird curl though....... "Hey. You must be Lukas, right? I'm Sorina, and the lazy ass behind me is Matthias." "I'm not that lazy!" he pouts. "Well you were this morning. Anyways, so I heard you lived in Norway. That must've been cool." "Tch. Not when it snows in the middle of April and your parents die because they were driving in it." he scoffs. I pale. "Oh my god. I'm so sorry, I had no idea." I stammer. "It's fine, I'm over it. Just wish I didn't have to move to this shitty place." "Yeah,I understand you're upset about your parents dying and moving to a new country. Trust me,I've been through it twice. I originally lived in Romania, then Italy, then here. That's why my accent's a bit messed up. I pronounce w's as v's, the occasional i as an ee, etc. It's annoying." I ramble. "Your accent's not that bad Rina!" "I agree with the Dane."Lukas states. "How'd you tell I was Danish Lukas? We just met you!" "Well, you're loud, you have a Danish flag tee, and your name is primarily Danish. Plus my sister has told me her girlfriend's Danish, and if you're her younger brother-" he trails. "ANYWAYS. So we're gonna go to a few of the local hangouts, our mall, maybe the beach, and one of our local diner's, Sunny's. That okay with you?"I ask. "Well, let me get a pair of swim trunks if we're going to the beach." the Norwegian goes back upstairs leaving me and Matthias alone. "So what'd you think of him?" he asks, waggling his eyebrows. "Seriously Matthias? Yes, he's a bit attractive but that doesn't mean I'm going to try and date him. Why're you such a perve?" I exclaim. "Ah, but you've admitted he's attractive!" I scowl. "Yes, but I think lots of guys are attractive Matt. That happens when hormones come into play. You don't see me acting like a child whenever you think some girl's attractive. Now shut up. He's coming back downstairs." We strike up some simple small talk and get to know each other before leaving. We learn Lukas has two younger siblings, 16 year old Emil and 13 year old Eyís. They've lived in all parts of Norway, but stayed in Oslo the most. He's very protective of his younger siblings and is constantly worrying over them, which is only fueled by the fact Eydís has asthma. He loves Norwegian folk tales and creatures, as his parents would constantly tell him stories about them when he was younger. He enjoys the type of music Matthias and I enjoy, which is good for conversation starters as he's very quiet. Then again, I'm also comparing him to Matthias, which, next to Alfred and Gil, is probably the loudest person in this town. Speaking of Matthias, Lukas has already tried to hit him already for "being too loud." Yep, I'm liking this guy already.
A/N- So, it's out! Make sure to comment your opinions down below, and vote too please! :) I'll try to update this as soon as I can, which'll probably be in two-three days due to the fact I'm on summer holiday. :3
(A/N again- No, I'm not British, just use British spelling and slang.......)
