Chapter 3~Back in PE

You said you'd always be my friend,

That we'd get married when we both got older!

I never heard those words before,

You made me long for something more,

But then she tried to steal your love

Akane raced towards the line dividing the two sides of the court. Playing Dodge ball always filled her with determination (insert Undertale reference here). Grabbing a ball from the ground, Akane prepared to make the last out of the year! The girl on the other team, a girl with long brown bangs, was the last one standing out of her entire team. Akane was the last on hers but the air was filled with tension! People were chanting Akane's name so loud it could have smothered the vast roar of a lion. Akane jumped as high as she could and prepared to shoot...but was stopped suddenly. The girl from the opposing side weakly threw her ball and managed to eliminate Akane from the game, while Akane was in mid air! Akane fell to the floor in defeat and stared blankly at the girl's face. It was the last PE game of the year and Akane screwed it up. A boy quickly ran to her aid with a hug and reassuring words.

"Akane!" He yelled excitedly, "You were AMAZING!"

"But I failed you guys... Why do you even want to be my friend?"

"Oh, come on!" he said holding her hand in his, "I'll always be your friend!" Akane smiled and hugged him. If she had known what the friend zone was at that age she might have responded differently. But Akane felt something aching...oh great!

"Ryuu," she said softly, still participating in a heart warming hug, "My knee really hurts...like...a lot"
