Roni's POV
After I called the aquarium, I went into town and got a book on turtles. I went and sat at a cafe and got a water and read the book. "Interesting,"I sighed.
"Hey," said a voice.
"Hi," I looked at him. He sat down next to me. "Nice look, Will. I almost didn't recognize you with your shirt on."
"I'm sorry," Will smiled. "I'm stupid."
"Yeah," I nodded.
"It must've been the game," Will sighed. "I must've been a little jacked up. You know, I laid awake that night, just remembering it. Felt like a jerk for hours."
"I seriously doubt that happened," I looked at him.
"You're wrong."
"I'll, uhm, I'll see you around," I nodded.
"I hope so," Will smiled. "What should I call you when that happens?"
"Roni," I replied as I stood up. I grabbed my bag and my book. "Unless you prefer my full name: Veronica Malee Brandt." I sighed. "When I see my mom again, I'm having my name changed."
"Why?" Will asked.
"Because I just found out that my dad isn't really my dad," I sighed. "I'm going to change it to my real dad's last name. So then, I'll be known at Veronica Malee English." I looked at Will. "But just stick with Roni."
"Bye Roni," Will nodded.
"Bye," I smiled and walked myself out. I went back home and sat Jonah. "Hey, what's up? Did the aquarium call?"
"I don't know," Jonah replied.
"Oh crap," I sighed as I saw a raccoon near the nest. "Hey!" I ran out of the house towards the eggs. "Hey!" The raccoon left. "That's it." I grabbed a bat, a lounge chair, a flashlight, and a blanket. I went to go sleep near the nest to keep the raccoons away. Someone poked me. I looked at who it was. "What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?" Will asked.
"I asked you first," I replied.
"I'm hear to mark a turtle nest," Will raised a brow.
"You work at the aquarium too? I thought you were a mechanic."
"Well, I don't work there. I volunteer there."
"I called yesterday," I replied as I stood up.
"Whoa," Will took a step back. "Is everything okay?"
"No, everything's not okay," I responded. "There were raccoons here all night."
"Really? Where are they now?"
"I scared them away. "
"Yeah, I'm not surprised. I'm a little scared."
"That's really funny. You know what? I'd actually like to see you sleep out here all night long while it's freezing cold with a baseball bat in your hand, and raccoons terrorize you."
"You really slept out here all night?"
"No, my hair looks like this all by itself."
"I wasn't gonna mention the hair," Will nodded. He looked at the contraption. "Is this all your creation?"
"Do you have a problem with it?"
"Not really. Other than the fact that when the eggs hatch, the turtles won't be able to get back to the sea. So, they'll starve and die."
"Great," I sighed. My phone rang and I looked at it. "Hey Mom!"
"Hey honey," Mom replied. "Are you enjoying Georgia?"
"Other than being terrorized by raccoons all night, I'm good," I replied. "How's Liz's and the band? How's Lemonade Mouth?"
"Rewind," Mom stopped me. "Did you sleep outside?"
"Mom, I had to so they wouldn't eat the turtle's nest," I sighed. "Is my FBI Special Agent Mom doing great? How's David?"
"That's odd coming from you," Mom replied.
"Dad, I mean, Blake, he told me the truth that you were pregnant for three months with me and you hid it from him," I sighed. I looked at Will. "I'll see you later." I walked back to the house. "When were you planning to tell me?"
"Blake and I had agreed that he'll tell you when he's ready," Mom nodded. "I guess he was ready. Look, I have to go because they're about to open the gates for the meet and greet for fans. I'll talk to you later. Love you."
Mom hung up. "I love you too," I sighed. I showered and got dressed. I went back into town to look at things. I was in a CD store looking for music to listen too. "Hm." I saw a girl walk to the rack in front of me. "Hey." She didn't turn around. "Blaze. Blaze, what's wrong?"
"I saw the way you looked at Marcus," Blaze turned to look at me. "I saw you."
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"I love him, okay?" Blaze nodded as she walked a bit closer to me. "So, stay away."
"I'm not interested in him."
"You're lying. I watched your flirt with him."
"Blaze, the guys a creep. He's the one that was coming onto me. Why would you want to be with someone like that anyways?" I asked. "If you call me telling him if he touch me again I'll put a bullet in his head, then yes I was flirting." I followed Blaze out but the alarm sounded. "What?"
"Excuse me," the store owner stated as he walked over to me. "I'm sorry. I'm going to have to check your purse." I handed him my purse. He pulled out a bracelet. "Anything?"
"I did not take that," I replied. I looked out the door and Blaze was smiling. I looked at the owner. "I promise I did not take it."
"You're gonna have to come with me," the guy sighed. He pulled me to a back room. "Wanna explain something?"
"Check your cameras," I crossed my arms. "I didn't do it."
"It's a small town," the guy replied. "Everybody knows everybody. Do you have ID?"
"Yeah," I sighed as I handed him my black wallet. He looked at it and looked at me. "What?"
"A federal issued badge?" he asked as he turned my FBI wallet towards me. "Why would someone in the FBI steal a bracelet?"
"Like I said, it wasn't me," I replied.
"I'm gonna have to call your parents," he sighed.
"Go ahead," I shrugged. "They won't come. My mom took time off her job at the Bureau to play security guard for my sister's band while they're on tour and David is helping her out with that." I looked at the owner. "They're my parents and they're on tour with my little sister." I looked at him. "You can call Blake English. I just recently found that he's my father."
