A Clash of Royal Proportions: The Competitions Begin

Prologue

                 A long time ago there was a planet in the middle of the universe called Ainashiko; it was the ruling planet over all the others. On this particular planet were a race of beings called youkai and on the planet, the Inu was the dominate race, but there were other races of youkai there as well.

              In that kingdom King Atomus a gold Inu and his mate Queen Azume a silver Inu ruled over all the universe, and was loved by all. For a long time the queen thought she was barren because they had tried many, many times since they became mates to conceive an heir to their thrown, but were unsuccessful. So Atomus and Azume thought to adopt a young Inu pup and that's just what they did. A few months later they brought home a male inu pup named Doshi, but soon after adopting the young pup the queen had finally gotten the news that she was finally pregnant. Six months later she gave birth to four pups total a boy and three girls.

              The birth of the all the pups were celebrated throughout the kingdom and the parties lasted weeks. But the joy and happiness was soon lost when Atomus found out about his beloved Queen repeatedly going to another youkai and was now pregnant with his pups.

             As soon as the Azume caught wind of Atomus knowing about her betrayal from her trusted advisors, she started to grow bitter towards her first litter of pups, even more so towards her eldest daughter Selena and her sister Serena whom resembled the king so much including power that she couldn't bear to see or be around them. So it was then that Azume had decided that she would at least separate the two girls for now, and that's what she did.

           When the girls were old enough to fend for themselves Selena was given to others to be taken care of and Serena was given to a close friend. Azume's friend had wanted pups greatly, but for some reason was unable to just like her, so she decided to give Serena to her, but during their conversation Azume told her that the two pups could never know of the other, and that they were to be kept apart. The friend understood the Queen's request and soon left with Serena in her arms.

          When Atomus found out from his own advisors about his pups being separated like they were, he couldn't bear being with his mate any longer and they had their mating annulled. For now Atomus would exile himself leaving Azume to rule the whole of Ainashiko, and leave his precious pups with his late mate. With his power of foresight he would wait for the day that he knew Selena his eldest would become powerful enough to come seek him out.

          Azume eventually settled down with her new mate Eien a black lion youkai, and had his cubs. Atomus also found himself a new mate Kasumi, a blue/gold DaiInu youkai that he was very happy with, and were currently trying for pups of their own.

           Soon after all the pups were old enough the late king and queen both decided that there would be two competitions. The first competition would be between Azume's first litter of pups and that of her current mates when they were older. The purpose of this competition was to determine which one of her pups would rule Ainashiko after her rule was done. It was this competition in which she was determined to get one of her other pups to win other than Selena whom she knew would win because of the power she held. Even at such a young age she displayed great powers to rival that of the late Kings'. The second competition would be for their female pups to find mates. The purpose of this competition was to determine the eligibility and power of available males for their pups, by making them compete for the female being presented.

           So as time when by all the pups began training for the day that the competitions would take place, and that's where we find ourselves today. The competitions are drawing near, and all the pups are getting ready for them. For soon all the pups would know who would be the best and the next future ruler of Ainashiko.
