I was bored of life.
At the age of twenty, that's a weird thing to say, right? But it was true; I had always lived life on the safe side, driving under the speed limit, not drinking unless there was someone with me- and especially not drinking under age. I always had my homework done, and I was the model child- neither my parents or teachers ever had a word of complaint about me.
But now, my school career was over, and I was free to live my life the way I always wanted to- as myself. I had always wanted a book written about my life, but I had to finish school, and college...
So, with the help of my friends (Taygen, Matt and Sophia), I made up a Bucket List, containing one-hundred-and-one things to do before I die. Maybe, just maybe, this will make my life interesting enough to read about. Number one on the List? Learn how to surf...

Living in the west of Ireland, where there are so many beautiful beaches, really helps sometimes- but then again--
"It's so bloody cold!" Matt cried, shivering.
"Suck it up princess! Don't you want to learn how to surf with me?" I batted my eyes at him, it was cold, but I was used to the freezing Lahinch temperatures.
"Gah! Yeah... Just- how long do we have to wait until this guy shows up?"
"Five minutes- Wait is that him?" We both turned to see a guy with long shaggy hair waking towards us. In true surfer form, he was carrying a surfboard and was wearing a wetsuit. "Are you Mike?"
He grinned at me, "Yep, and I'm guessing you're Mia, correct?"
I replied with the affirmative, and introduced him to Matty. They shook hands, and commented on the weather.
"Sooo... Shall we get this show on the road?" Matt asked, shivering even harder.
"Yeah man, lemme just get ye boards!" Mike set down his surf board and walked towards a small building, and returned a few minutes later with another two boards in his arms. "Here ya go! C'mon, let's head down to the shore!"
Mike was an interesting character. He was seriously cheerful- and he could actually make you smile jst by laughing. I could tell that we would get along.
"Woooooo! This is amazing!" I screamed, the words swept away by the wind. Who knew riding waves would be this... Incredible? I had managed to stand, and was currently flying back to shore via a large wave. I passed Matt, and laughed at his attempts to stay on the board.
I twisted slightly on the board, and fell into the water. The tie from the board cutting into my ankle and causing my body to be dragged along with it. Salt water filled my mouth and nostrils, and I struggled to get above the water.
"Ooof!" My body slammed into something hard. Looking up, I realised it was a wall. "Bloody hell!" I rubbed my arm, and climbed back onto the board. Paddling back to shore, I had another look around for Mike or Matt, only to see them on the beach laughing their asses off at me.
"Thanks guys... Really," I said sarcastically, flipping them the bird.
They laughed again, and we went to dry off. I was shocked to see that we had been surfing for about two hours- I was starving!
"Let's get something to eat, shall we? All that surfing really took it out of me, oh, and Mike, you're free to come along too," Matt suggested, "If you want, of course..."
"Er- I've another student coming soon, maybe some other time, yeah? Later guys!" Mike told him, and began jogging back to his small hut.
"Shall we?" I grinned at Matt, and he blushed, and rolled his eyes,
" 'Shup, can't I use extensive vocabulary every once in a while?"
I stared at him, "What?"
He grinned at me, "Exactly. C'mon! I'm HUNGRY!" I laughed, and we made our way up the slant to the pier. Luckily for us, Lahinch has like a million restaurants, all of which smelt amazing!
We decided to go to the first one we came across and went inside. I ordered the days special, Fish and chips, and Matt got a burger with chips.
Before the food arrived, I pulled the List out of my huge beach bag,"Well, that's one thing to cross off it!" I grinned, and made a big 'X' beside 'Learn how to surf'.
