Yeah, so maybe not weekly updates XD
Andy POV
Damn it. I missed the bus on my first day, how did I manage that? Way to make a good first impression, Andy. As I was kicking stones on the hard pavement, I was thinking. Something I do a lot lately. Moving to a new school isn't fun for anybody, but it's even worse starting halfway through the last year. And not to mention I knew this school had all the typical cliques and groups of people warring with each other. I wonder where I will fit in.
I also have the issue of deciding wether or not to come out as bisexual. I mean, all of my friends from New York accepted it, and my family did as well. So it couldn't hurt, right?
I had barely had time to get ready this morning, so my longish brown hair wasn't straight (ha) and kind of awkwardly tapered off into waves by my ears. I hadn't showered, but hopefully no one would notice that one. I had kind of already accepted that I look a mess on my first day of school. And honestly I couldn't care less. At least the other students will be able to see my natural beauty(!)
The walk to school was long, and really hot. California is boiling most of the time, and its different to the temperate of New York. Me and my mum had had to go out and buy shorts and shirts for me if I was planning on not melting in the heat.
I reached school at 8:45, which I know is when tutor group starts, so I was late. Oh boy. It took me a while to find the front office, as the building was huge and seemed to cast everything into a huge shadow. Well this looks like a lovely place.
The lady at the front desk was terrifying. Well, to me anyway. She was young, about 20, and looked as if she was trying way too hard to impress. I could count the layers of makeup she was wearing, and her boots added about 5 inches to her height, which was still smaller than me.
'Hello!' I cringed at her high pitched voice. 'You must be Andy Kane! My name is Leisa, come with me.' I awkwardly shuffled my feet into her office, honestly slightly scared. She closed the door behind me and bustled busily over to her desk. Rummaging around in her drawers, she pulled out a lot of documents. 'Alright.' She said, wobbling back over to me in her 5 inch heels. She handed me what looked like a timetable, locker number, lock code, and a hall pass. 'You need that to walk around outside of class.' She explained. Yes, well I did know that.
I went to leave the room. 'Just come back here if you need help with anything!' She is so overly enthusiastic. So no, I don't think I'll be coming back here if I can help it. I left the office and walked into the empty corridors. They were quite small, and I didn't want to be in here when it was filled with hundreds of rowdy teenagers. I quickly found my locker, and after two failed attempts I managed to dump my bag, removing my English book. The class was 2B, and that seemed to be on the second floor, east hall. This school is huge, I'm surprised I didn't get lost. I actually found my class pretty easily, and I paused outside the door. Do I just go , or... I looked through the window, and saw a kid just sitting down. If he was just arriving, I couldn't be that late. I just opened the door.
The teacher, Mr. Johnston or something, looked at me like he was about to tell me off for not knocking on the door before I came in, but he immediately plastered a smile on his face. 'Ah Mister Kale, finally.' His voice had a bored undertone that was covered with an attempt to be happy. I nodded my head, and I noticed a pair of eyes staring at me. I turned my head, and saw that it was the same boy who was just sitting down when I entered. He had black hair and blue eyes, and he was really cute. His were really wide, I assumed because I had caught him staring. But I couldn't help but notice how his cheeks flushed slightly red and his lips opened and closed slowly. I kept his gaze for a little longer before speaking, 'Yes, sorry I'm late, I missed the bus.' The teacher hurried over to me and dragged me to the front of the class. 'Welcome to our class, now why don't you tell everyone a bit about yourself and the others can ask some questions.'
Oh great.
I walked a little closer to the desk while thinking about what I was gonna say. 'My name is Andy and I like football, a lot.' Wow, great introduction right there. I sound like an idiot. But then again, most of the people in this class looked pretty dumb and preppy, so I was probably alright. Some random girl, who looked like she should be making Instagram beauty vlogs, blurted out 'Date me.' I was a bit confused. I awkwardly flicked my eyes back to the cute kid at the back of the class and saw that he put his head down onto the desk again. He was expecting me to say yes, I could tell.
'Um, no I don't think so.' I said, and the girls face turned pretty sour. She was probably pissed for being turned down in front of her friends. Meanwhile, the boy jolted his head up pretty quickly. His eyes held shock. I tried to be polite by smiling at the girl, but her face was so angry I was slightly scared. Another boy raised his hand, he seemed a bit nicer than the girl. That is until he said 'What's your sexuality?' Wow, so polite thanks bro. I had already decided that I was gonna come out, and that had been enforced when I saw the black haired boy. I decided to act confident with this.
'I'm bisexual, and I honestly don't care what you think about that.' The Barbie girl's face grew hopeful again, and I looked at the boy. He was gazing at me with a surprised look on his face. I kept my eyes on his when I added 'But I swing more towards guys.'
The blush was back, this time creeping up to his ears and contrasting greatly against his pale skin. I heard the Barbie complaining. 'If you're Bi then why don't you like me?' I ignored her, still confused about how the blue eyed boy seemed to grow more attractive the longer I looked at him. Mr. Johnston butt in, saying that they had asked enough questions. He didn't tell me where I had to sit so I took advantage of the opportunity, and began to make my way to the back of the classroom.
Ignoring the hopeful looks and confused eyes, I passed the jocks and cheerleaders and nerds and smart kids. Blue eyes was looking frantically to each side, and when he noticed the empty seat to his, he paled. I slid stealthily into the seat next to him. 'Hi.' His eyes widened and he looked at me like he had completely resigned to the situation. 'What's your name?' I asked. I was genuinely curious. He tried to speak, and had a cute little stammer as he spoke. L-Lynn.' Hs voice was soft and quiet, but I wanted to hear it more. It was like music. The blush was present on his cheeks again as he looked back towards the table. I really wanted to get to know Lynn. It's ridiculous how quickly this crush developed.
