"Hey Izz," Andrea said as she took a seat beside where I was sitting.
"How ya doing?" I asked before I took a bite out of my taco.
"To be honest," she began to twirl her ring around her finger, a habit she did when she was nervous, "I'm scared."
"Andrea! We're graduating from high school in two months!! We'll be free!" I exclaimed after I shook her back and forth by her shoulders.
"Nonononononono. I'm not scared about graduation, in fact, I'm ecstatic! I'm scared of what your reaction is gonna be when I tell you," she murmured, continuing to play with the ring as she tugged her bottom lip with her teeth.
"Tell me what?" I questioned, crossing my arms and leaning back in my seat. Forgetting that I was in the cafeteria and the seats didn't have backs, I felt myself falling to the ground and started to flail my arms around in order to prevent the inevitable until an arm grabbed me before I hit the ground.
"Woah there, child, be careful," Andrea pulled me back up, and me being the clumsy person I was, had accidentally spilled everything. There was taco meat all over the ground, my Sprite poooled around on the surface of the table, and there were sprinkles of tomato and lettuce all over the seats.
Groaning, I stood up, and walked out the door towards the bathroom. Looking in the mirror while I grabbed the paper towels, I noticed a small splotch of pink in the corner of my turquoise ombre shirt.
"Shoot," I muttered, making one of the paper towels damp and dabbing it onto the stain.
After being in the bathroom for roughly five minutes, only succeeding in make the stain a tad bit fainter, I washed my hands, grabbed the stack of paper towels, and left. I glanced at my watch while walking down the hall and realized that I only have about three minutes of lunch left.
Just great, I thought to myself, I had no lunch, so I'm going to be starving during fifth period, and I have about one minute to clean up the humongous mess I made.
Sighing, I walked through the cafeteria doors, looking at my watch before crashing into somebody. Namely, Samuel Kirth, one of the smartest people in the school, and is the team captain of the baseball, and soccer teams at Creekpool.
He grabbed me by the shoulders, preventing me from falling, and said something I never thought I would ever hear from him.
"Hi."
