Prologue

Alice, or Ali as she preferred, walked down the hall briskly. Her jeans, Ralph Lauren polo, dark green plaid belt, fitted blazer and Oxfords fit her serious-casual-Friday personality that she held today.

Ali finally arrived at the bulletin board. She, as student council President, pinned the official flier for the annual Fall dance. This year's theme was a simply outdated masquerade, but she was outvoted at the meeting. She tightened her pony as she stared it down to make sure it was straight. Then, she walked away gracefully, but stumbled when she came across Jack, the senior star quarterback. He was completely unattainable by his girlfriend, Jenny. Although, Jack had also had a double-take when Alice passed. He noticed how determined she was, and that made her beauty shine so bright, unlike Jenny, who thought short skirts and six-inch heels was the secret to unlocking a destiny: but it usually ended up being blisters that she complained about and made Jack rub.

Jack seemed like that All-American teenage boy on the outside. Well, not to be biased, but you should know that he was totally ripped, kind of like Liam Hemsworth. Actually, he looked like Liam, too, with his shaggy blonde hair and the way he towered over others in his six-foot-tall frame. When you got to know Jack on a deeper level, however, (and not many of his friends even tried) you saw his charming personality and intelligence. He actually received staright A's on his report card and was involved in studetn council. He was the vice president, and worked closely with Alice.

Jack was the kind of boy you looked up to, and Alice was the kind of girl that you would look at and say " I wish I had your grades," and go back to your business, but under her ponytail and hard work, she was a beautiful girl with a sarcastic perona and witty charm. Toatl opposites, close as can be, but yet so distant....
