How I'm breaking while you fall asleep

Aphmau was tired of her best friend being with someone else. She was jealous. But she was done. She wanted to end her life. It was 2 a.m, she thought Garroth was asleep.

Little do you know
I'm still haunted by the memories

Memories popped into her head. Like the day that Garroth asked Zoey to be his girlfriend. She could never get that memory out of her head.

Little do you know
I'm trying to pick myself up piece by piece

Aphmau's heart was shattered in pieces. Every time she tried to mend her broken heart, she would just fail and become even more broken.

Little do you know
I need a little more time

She needed more time to adjust with them being together.

Underneath it all I'm held captive by the hole inside

She tried to contain herself. She tried not to let anyone see that she was terribly depressed.

I've been holding back for the fear that you might change your mind

She was scared that if she told Garroth that she liked him, he would not be her friend anymore.

I'm ready to forgive you but forgetting is a harder fight

Before Garroth got with Zoey, Garroth and her got into a big fight about Zoey. Garroth had said he hated her while they were fighting. It broke Aph's heart.

Little do you know
I need a little more time

She needed more time with him.

I'll wait, I'll wait
I love you like you've never felt the pain,

Garroth didn't love Zoey. He loved Aphmau, but he caused her so much agony and pain.

I'll wait
I promise you don't have to be afraid,

He wasn't scared. He was going to reassure Aph that she didn't have to be scared either.

I'll wait
The love is here and here to stay

His feelings for Aph would never change. They were always going to stay.

So lay your head on me

Garroth knew that Aph could always count on him to be the shoulder she could cry on or just lay on.

Little do you know
I know you're hurting while I'm sound asleep

Sometimes Aphmau cut herself. Aphmau probably thought he was asleep but he never was. He could still tell if she was cutting herself even if he was asleep. He could always hear her screams.

Little do you know
All my mistakes are slowly drowning me

Garroth always cried because he thought he was a terrible person because he made many terrible mistakes. The guilt and realization were slowly making him drown.

Little do you know
I'm trying to make it better piece by piece

Garroth broke up with Zoey. He was trying to make things better.

Little do you know
I, I love you 'til the sun dies

Garroth would always love his little potato.

Oh wait, just wait
I love you like I've never felt the pain,

One night, Garroth woke up Aph and brought her to the park. He didn't grab her wrist because he knew she would feel pain.

Just wait
I love you like I've never been afraid,

Garroth was going to confess to Aph right now. He wasn't scared

Just wait
Our love is here and here to stay

"Aph, I love you," Garroth whispered into her ear.

So lay your head on me

Aph slowly smiled and Garroth threw his head on her shoulder.

I'll wait (I'll wait), I'll wait (I'll wait)
I love you like you've never felt the pain,

Aph slowly felt all her pain subside. She just felt happy. She obviously loved him too.

I'll wait (I'll wait)
I promise you don't have to be afraid,

Aph wasn't going to be afraid either. She was going to tell him the truth.

The love is here and here to stay

"I love you too, Garroth." She quickly said.

So lay your head on me

Aph slowly laid her head on top of Garroth's head that was on her shoulder.

"Cause little do you know
I, I love you 'til the sun dies" Garroth said into Aph's ear as she fell asleep on his head.
