Chapter 8
~~Victoria's POV~~
I glared at Steve. "Stop laughing at me."
He wiped at his teary eyes as he slowly stopped laughing. "What? It's funny. Taylor is not gay."
I pursed my lips. The look Taylor was giving me in the library says otherwise. "How do you know?"
"Because he..." Steve paused. "He works out a lot..."
I punched him in the arm. "That's totally sexist! Do you think girls don't work out either?"
He scoffed. "Of course they don't. Boys work out, girls work it."
"What does that even mean?"
"You don't get it?" He stood up and pointed to his junk. I scrunched my face up in confusion at his gesture. Rolling his eyes, he started to swing his hips around.
"You look so weird right now, dude!" I stifled a laugh. "And I still don't know what you're talking about!"
"Her body! Sex!" He sighed out.
I laughed some more. "How does pointing to your ding-a-ling help me figure that out?"
"How does pointing to my," He lifted up his fingers to hand quote me, "'ding-a-ling' not help you figure that out?"
I rolled my eyes and jumped to my feet. My hands flew to my hips. "I'm going to figure out if Taylor's gay if it's the last thing I do! Mark my words!"
Steve gave me a lazy grin. "Good luck, Hercules."
"Good luck, Hercules." I mimicked Steve under my breath.
I stared at Taylor's back the whole class period. I didn't know what to do with him. He may be extremely hot like the majority of the boys are here, but I really didn't want to do anything with him. If what Mr. Kebbs said was true, that Taylor is truly homosexual, then I have to tell Taylor straight up how I feel. I don't want any more drama on my plate than I already have. I mean, I'm a girl pretending to be a boy for Pete's sake!
I bit my lip in thought. Maybe Mr. Kebbs is lying. He does have a record of doing that. It's pretty hard to trust the guy. I mean, he is Cam's uncle.
Gah, this is so nerve-racking.
As if feeling eyes on his back, Taylor turned around. His eyes caught mine and he flashed a small smile. I realized that I still had my bottom lip in my mouth and quickly slipped it out. I bet he thinks that I was doing that because of him!
I think I just made this whole situation worse!
Classes flew by like fly. I avoided Taylor in every one of them and ignored Steve's bantering up until lunch period.
By then, I couldn't take it anymore.
"Get me out of here. Now."
"Vic, calm down. It can't be that bad." David assured me. I shifted the phone to my other hand as I listened to him talk on. "You just started the year. Don't give up now."
I peeked out through the janitor closet doors to see if anyone was in the hallways. It was lunch period so there really shouldn't be anyone out here anyways. The teachers are always on patrol.
I pulled the door shut again before speaking. "I know you've been watching on those cameras, David, so don't tell me it can't be that bad." I snapped at him quietly. "Mr. Kebbs-"
"Is Cam's uncle." David finished for me even though that wasn't what I was going to say. "You can't trust anything that guy says. Plus, even if that Taylor guy is homosexual, his friends don't know that so I'd doubt he'd tell you how he feels."
I frowned, catching the truth in his words. "Still..."
"Still nothing." He chuckled. "Do you want to get us that million or what?"
"Why couldn't you or Cam do this instead?" I whined. "You two are actually guys."
"Oh really? I could've sworn I had boobs the other day..."
I stifled a laugh despite my depressed mood. "You know what I mean."
"It's much more entertaining when you do it, Vic. Our fans love you. It had to be you."
"Because I'm a girl in an all boys' school?"
"No, because..."
I didn't hear what he said after that because the phone fell out of my hand. I didn't even hear the door open, but standing there in front of me was Steve. His eyes were literally popping out of his eyes sockets as he stared down at me. I took a huge gulp and forced out a smile. "Hi."
"What-"
I grabbed my phone, jumped out of the closet, and pushed past him until I was out into the hallway.
