It was May 3rd, 2005, 10:01 A.M. A new baby girl was born. She weighed in at 9lbs, 5oz. Her parents loved her very, very much. She had a big brother who was 3, about to be 4 when she was born.
Fast forward 4 years when her first memory was. She was in her room, singing along to a silly little kids TV show with bugs dancing and singing too. Behind her was her crib, and beside that was her purple Dora chair. There was a window to her left.
Fast forward another year and that's when she had her first dream that she remembers. She doesn't know why she remembers it 6 years after she had it, but she does. She was skateboarding with her friends away from a monster. She looked back for one second and the monster caught her. She just looked at the green monster, curiosity filling her. Then the dream ended.
Fast forward a few months and she had her second memory. She was sitting in the backseat on the left side of the car with her booster seat under her. She was looking out the window, thinking about what was going to happen tomorrow. It was her birthday tomorrow! She was very excited, but she was just thinking about it very hard for a 5, almost 6 year old. 'I will be a lot older..' She thought to herself. She was excited, but she didn't want to become older. Being 5 was the perfect age to her. 'Oh well, I guess I can't change that I'm growing up.' She thought. Then she realized that she was almost home. She got ready to unbuckle.
Fast forward two years. She went to live with her aunt with a couple months, then her grandma. While she lived her grandma's, her parents only got her two presents for Christmas. They gave them to her early, however. Being 7 was exciting, because they said that these were very exciting things. She opened the first present. It was a case. She thought that it was for a phone. She quickly opened the second, and saw what looked like a phone. She accidentally dropped the present in excitement. The present thankfully didn't break. She then found out that it was actually an iPod Touch. She was still very excited, even if it wasn't a phone. Then, a few months later, she moved back in with her parents completely. She got way better wifi at the new house. A few months after moving back in, while looking at random websites, she discovered YouTube. It was 2012, 7 years after it had originally came out, but she was just now finding it. She discovered a random guy called PewDiePie. She not very long after fell in love with his videos. She then found other people, like Smosh, Steve Kardynal, and lots of other amazing people. She then decided to make her own YouTube videos, hoping that she could get famous like those other people. She made a video called 'Me Saving My Bear.' It didn't get watched my many people, but she didn't care. She loved making the videos. She made many other ones, and soon enough, more and more people watched them. She was blown away when one of her videos got more than 6,000 views! She was only a 7 year old! How did this happen?! She continued making videos, but her parents still didn't know. They didn't find out until she was 8 and had been making videos for a year. They didn't care too much, just as long as she didn't share her address or any other personal information. One day, while scrolling through YouTube's suggested page, she found a song called Centuries. She didn't ever see who it was by, though. She automatically fell in love with the song. She also found Uma Thurman, but that was on the radio. She has no idea that the songs were made my the same people.
Nothing really happened for the next two years. That was, until her brother's girlfriend showed her a song called The Ballad of Mona Lisa in September of 2015. She kinda liked the song, even though it was almost as old as her. She searched up the people who made the song, just to find out that the band only had one member. She really likes the song, so she searched more songs. She found This Is Gospel, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, and a lot of others.
Next month, on October 17th, she got what she had wanted for 3 years. A phone! It was a gold iPhone 5s, and she liked it a lot. She was supposed to get if for Christmas, but, much like her iPod, she got it early. 2 days later, on October 19th, she found two silly guys called danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil, or Dan and Phil. She guessed that Dan was older, but when she got more in to them, to her surprise, Phil was actually older by 4 years. She started getting more and more in to them, and soon, they had replaced PewDiePie as her favorite YouTubers. Not long after, she found the band that played the songs Centuries and Uma Thurman. They were called Fall Out Boy, and she quickly got in to them also, alongside Panic! At The Disco as her favorite bands. Not really much happened between October and January. But in January, one of her favorite YouTubers was turning 29. Phil, of course! She didn't want him to at all, but he was going to any way. She wore plaid, mix-matched socks, and brought a stuffed lion to school in honor of his birthday. A few days later, in February, she got her first boyfriend. It was on February 16th, two days after Valentines Day. She was very happy about that. Not long after that, while she was looking at Phan, or her two favorite YouTubers, who she now shipped together, edits, she found one with a cool song on the background. The song went 'Used to play pretend, give each other different names, we would build a rocket ship and then we'd fly it far away.' She really liked the song, so she asked what it was in the comments. Someone thankfully replied, saying 'Stressed Out - Twenty Øne Piløts.' She searched up the song and fell in love with it. She listened to it over and over, forcing herself to learn how to rap the hard parts. She watched lyric videos over and over, practicing hard. She finally learned how to rap all of it. She was very proud of herself. She decided to listen to some other songs that the band had made. She found Ride, Car Radio, Polarize, and many other songs. A week later, she thought she heard a familiar song on the radio. She turned the radio up. Sure enough, it was Stressed Out. She had never heard any songs by Twenty Øne Piløts, or TØP, for short, on the radio before. She was very happy. Soon, however, it started playing more and more. She enjoyed hearing one of her favorite bands on the radio, but something changed in the TØP fandom, or the clique. They started saying things like 'Only fake fans like Stressed Out!' and 'Radios need to stop playing Stressed Out!' She was very confused. Why couldn't they just be happy that their favorite band's song was playing on the radio. She soon learned that they were mad because Stressed Out lost it's meaning after being played on the radio so many times. It was thought of as a normal pop song, but it had so much more meaning then that. Soon after she found this band, she found out her favorite YouTubers were coming to America. She was unbelievably excited, even though she didn't even know if she was going to see them or not. She was just happy that they were coming to America, seeing as they live on the other side of the world. She ran up and down her street, jumping, squealing, and yelling, "DAN AND PHIL ARE COMING TO AMERICA!!" The only problem was that she had a very slim chance of seeing them. Tickets were coming out in less than a month, and she only had $160. That sounds like a lot, but it's not when you're talking about tour tickets. Even though she had a very slim chance, she still had one. She had her mind set on going, even though there were obstacles. A lot of them, actually. Gas money, food, a third ticket for a parent to go with them (her best friend was going to go with her. it was either she went or they didn't go at all in her world)... But she thought it out carefully. She found the cheapest tickets, and only needed $19 more to be able to get two tickets for her and her friend. (Little did she know that her friend would very soon become her girlfriend.) She was very excited. She told her mom her plan, and that was the best decision she had ever made. No, not the plan, telling her mother about the plan.
Soon after, in May, two things happened that sparked two completely different emotions. She found out that her boyfriend had never really loved her. She self harmed because she felt so sad. She had before, but she had been a few weeks clean before then. But, after that, a very, very exciting thing happened.
'Mom, can I go with Calob (her brother) to the basketball court?'
'No, sweetie.'
'Why?'
'Because. You'll see very soon.'
'Ok...'
Age was in the living room when all of the sudden her girlfriend and her whole family come in to the house. She was very confused. Her mom asked, 'Do you like playing games?' She just said 'Sure...' And a card was given to her. That card lead to another card, that lead to another, that lead to another and so on. She ran from card to card, thinking 'What if it's tatinof tickets?' With her girlfriend struggling to keep up behind her, she found the last card. It said something along the lines of 'This is your final thrill..' She quickly turned the piece of paper over, her girlfriend at her side. It said these words, the words that will be forever embedded in her brain.
'YOU'RE GOING TO SEE DAN AND PHIL!!"
She screamed loudly, and so did her girlfriend. They were the happiest humans on planet Earth. They held hands and jumped up and down, breaking each other's eardrums while screaming, but not caring one bit. They got to see their heroes. Their dads. Their.. Everythings. They were practically dying of excitement. They were going on June 8th, which was in 70 something days. They didn't care that it was really far away. They just cared that they got to see them. They couldn't wrap their minds around the fact that yes, it was actually going to happen. They were actually going to see them. And that they didn't have to pay anything, unless they got merch, which they already knew that they were. Signed copies of Dan and Phil's book, Tabinof, were $25 dollars, so they already knew that they were going to get those. But, however, they soon discovered that there are only 50 at each show, so you would have to be there very early to get one. Their hope deteriorated, but it didn't go away fully. She wanted a shirt, so she planned on bringing her whole wallet, but leaving her $100 bill at home. Before she knew it, it was June 7th, a day before the show. She made something that might be included in the show, packed her bag, checked, double checked, and triple checked to make sure she had everything, put a little note on her bedside table reminding her of what was happening the next day for when she woke up, watched some 'Tatinof survival guide' videos, and then finally decided she was ready. She almost couldn't fall asleep because of her excitement. But soon enough, she did, and awoke ready for the best day/night of her life.
Her girlfriend came over at 10:45 A.M. Her dad was still asleep, so her and her girlfriend didn't have to worry about her parents not wanting her bedroom door to be shut. What were they going to do? They were only 11 and were smart enough not to do that. Maddy, her girlfriend, also made something that might be included in the show. While Maddy was doing that, she got her bag and got a call from Calob. He was going to be home from practice soon. She asked him to wake up their when he got home. 'Ok, lazy." He replied. She said back 'I tried to wake him up but he wouldn't!' He laughed and hung up, but not rudely, if that makes any sense. She sat on her bed, waiting for Calob. He came home soon and woke their dad up. He got ready and Maddy, her dad and her all got ready to go. They were on the way to Houston very soon.
Hours before the show, Maddy and her met two girls who were sitting outside waiting to get inside pretty close to them. One girl's name was Mika. She was very nice. The other girl was Sammi. She was also very nice. Pretty much everyone there was nice. Soon, they were ushering people in line. Her dad had gone to the car, which was pretty far away when they had to get in line. She called her dad and told him that they had to get in line. He rushed back and got with them again. The two lines, bags and no bags, were let inside at 5:30. They got inside and she had her bag checked. She was allowed through and went straight to the merch table to see if they could get a signed copy of tabinof, as neither of them had gotten it yet. They swiftly got in line and were one of the first. They had their fingers crossed. Maddy asked the guard if they had any signed book left, and he replied 'I don't think so, but you can ask the person at the table.' They were next in line and got called over by a man at the table. They asked if they had two signed copies and, lucky for them, they had about 5 left. Maddy asked 'A-Are they signed?' And the man nodded. Maddy got a shirt and she got a shirt and a wristband. They went back to the table that her dad was at and sat down. Well, she did, but Maddy just set her stuff down and left to meet every single person there. (No, seriously. Every. Single. Living. Soul. There.) A very nice girl gave them flower crowns. Another let Maddy try on a llama hat. Soon enough, they all got in line to get in to the theater place. They climbed up some stairs and found where they were supposed to sit. They sat and sang along to songs for nearly an hour. Soon, all the lights went off. Except for one, in the middle of the stage.
(I would tell how the show went, but I don't want to give any spoilers xox)
The show was amazing. They left the theater place while listening to All Star. She was starstruck. "That. Was. The. Best. Night. I've. Ever. Had." She thought to herself, while being ushered out in a huge crowd. Having claustrophobia probably wasn't the best thing at the moment, but she didn't care. She had just seen her heroes, but not through a screen for the first, and only, time. She wanted to scream she was so happy, but she managed to control herself.
Fast forward to June 11th. The person that she had just seen days before was turning 25. She, of course, wasn't ready, but still was happy for him. 7 days later, Josh, the guy from who she had decided was he all time favorite band, was turning 28. She wasn't ready for all of these birthdays, her favorite people becoming older... She didn't like it. But it had to happen any way.The girl that you just read about? Did you notice that I never stated her name. Well, he name is Cailey, and she has a Wattpad account called Caillyn123.
Huge plot twist, right? I was writing about myself the whole time? Well, I might have been pretty obvious, but whatever. Thanks for reading!
