The next morning was like any other start of the day. The house was filled with silence as everyone was getting ready to go to work, or, for me, school. Father was reading the Daily Star Gazer. His normal morning routine was taking a shower, get dressed into work clothes, pour him some coffee, and read the news. His routine has never changed one bit. Doesn't he get bored of reading the news? Why can't he watch it instead like every other person on this planet.

Mother was cooking breakfast, eggs and hash browns this morning. She was still in her pajamas and wasn't ready for work at all. After she served breakfast though she eats then goes and gets ready for work.

I sat down at the table, sitting across from Greg, who was shoveling food into his mouth. He had to be at work early today. Greg might have accidentally slept in because he would have already eaten by now, and would be heading out the door by this time.

I picked up my fork and picked at my food for a bit before I began to eat. Greg finished eating and stood up, putting his dishes in the sink and kissing mother on the cheek. He quickly walked out the front door leaving to work. Now it was just my parents and I. It was so awkward being with them now. Mother has been ignoring me, and father grunts acknowledging me.

Eating my food as slow as I could, my father tries to stifle a chuckle. I looked at my father placing my fork in my mouth since it had food on it. Mother glanced over at father, but looking right back at the dishes.

"What's so funny Hun?" She asked him.

"There seems to be a problem with people not wanting to follow the rules of the zodiac," Father said. "According to the news there was a man and a woman tried to get married, but they were both apart of different constellations. They say the man was forcing the girl to marry him, so he's facing time in prison, while the young lady is going to rehab." He continued shaking his head.

"Honestly what are people thinking these days? This system was placed for the safety of the new kin and not have disagreements at all. We can be ourselves if we're with our zodiac. And it's easier to love someone of the same zodiac," Mother states looking at me when she said the last part. I rolled my eyes and continued to eat. I finished off the food I had left. Cleaning off the dishes and placing it in the dishwasher. I walked out of the kitchen and back up to my room.

Dressing into something that I felt comfortable to wear to school. I wore a band T-shirt, skinny jeans, and converse. I didn't bother with doing anything to my hair. I just brushed out the knots and called it good. I only put on eye liner and mascara like I usually do. Ready for school, I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs, going straight for the door but I was stopped by mother standing in front of the door way. Her arms folded across her chest. Looking like she had a lot on her mind, that made her also look angry.

"Can I help you ma'am?" I asked in a southern accent, not calling her mom. Mother's eyes glared right are me, making eye contact. I felt a little bit of fear prickle in me, I ignored it though.

"I heard you got detention yesterday. What were you thinking when you punched that poor girl. We have to pay all our attention to finding your future husband. Then we here you're starting fights at school," Mother ranted. I rolled my eyes. "Don't you roll your eyes at me young lady!" Mother's face was bright red, with anger. Her head seemed like it was going to explode.

"I wasn't aiming for her. I was aiming for her brother, but she got in the way trying to stop a fight from happening," I said calmly.

"Why did you want to punch someone in the first place?" Mother said sounding frustrated at this point.

"They were talking about me behind my back. I heard them, leading to me being mad-,"

"That's not a god damn excuse to want to punch someone."

"Well to bad, I just got one. Plus I don't think it will happen again, because they now know better. And why do you care, it was a different zodiac. Go back to trying to find my future husband," I said pushing past her and out the door.

"Don't give me sass young lady! You and your father are going to have a long conversation when you get home tonight!" Mother screeched at me.

"Whatever," I said waving her off.

I arrived to the school, kids pushing past me like they were at recess. This isn't elementary guys. No wonder people treat them like they're little kids, they act like five years old.

Caitlyn was leaning against the flag pole as if waiting for someone. She wasn't waiting for me, because we normally just meet up wherever. Caitlyn must be waiting for someone specific. I walked over to her. She didn't seem to notice I was walking over to her. I poked her sides and she jumped. I began to laugh.

"That wasn't funny!" She shouts getting defensive.

"It's was damn funny," I said controlling myself now. "But anyways! Who are you waiting for?" I asked.

"I have to meet up with one of the guys my parents chose for me." She said sighing out of frustration.

"Ha gross," I said. "I'll tell you what happened with my parents later then." I walked away from Cait and into the school. Grabbing some of my books from my locker, then walking to the lunch room, since I had nowhere else to hang around at.

I did some equations in my math book, and study some of my words for German. I studied up until someone sat in the seat in front of me. I looked up and noticed it was Scott. He was grinning ear from ear. Scott seemed unusually happy. But it was cute, so I didn't really care.

"How may I help you?" I said smiling back at him.

"Hi I didn't properly introduce myself yesterday." He said, I then remembered the notes we were passing back and forth yesterday. "I'm Scott Bryant. And you are?"

I glanced down, but looked back up chuckling a little bit, "Ich bin Gabriela Cooper," I said introducing myself in German. He gave me a confused look. "You chose the wrong time to come and talk to me. I was just studying for German," I giggled.

"Are you going to do that a lot?" He questioned me.

"Probably. How else would I become fluent in the language or something like that?" I said.

"Okay. So do you want to be partners with me for Mr. Tate's project he gave us?" He asked.

"Sure. It'll be fun," I said smiling. He gave me a grin. The bell rang, signaling that it was time for students to head to class. I have a feeling today is going to go by slowly, because of school, and my parents continuously yelling at me.

*Hey guy I hope youre like the story. Just so you know I'm still beginner when it comes to speaking German. Ive only taken one year of the German class, but I do hope to get better at it. Thanks for reading :) you're the best*
