CHAPTER THREE
Lucy followed the caddet up the stairs to the top floor. He pushed open the door for her, Lucy walked into the panicked room.
"What the fuck?" She said to herself. Lucy looked round the room and watched as people ran grasping papers and answering phones. Lucy pushed past them towards Mark, he sat at his desk scribbling numbers down.
"Mark"

"Lucy" Mark said without looking up,
"Took your time."
Lucy sighed and grabbed the cigarette from his lips and took a drag,
"Whats happened to Missile Nine?"

"Someone launched it."

"Where's it heading?"
Mark looked down at the floor. Lucy cocked an eyebrow and grabbed his chin,
"Look at me." Lucy pulled his face towards her,
"Where is it heading?"

"Texas." He whispered.

"Where in Texas?" Lucy spitted through her gritted teeth

"Fort Worth"

Lucy straightened her blazer and breathed deeply,
"How long untill it gets there?"

"Five hours"
Lucy clenched her jaw and walked away,
"Do everything you can to change its course"

Mark stood up, "wait, where are you going?"

"To get my family."

---

Lucy sat in her seat and looked out the window, she rung her hands as she took off and flew away from her home.
"Its been so long since I've seen them." Lucy mumbled.
She layed her head against the wall and shut her eyes whilst she could.

Lucy woke to the pilot shaking her,
"Ma'am?"
Lucy sat up and rubbed her eyes, "yes. I'm up."

Lucy climbed out the jet and ran towards the helicopter, she jumped in and yelled at the pilots to go. Lucy sighed and watched as she got further away from the ground. Lucy's eyes pulled themselves shut...

"Lucy?" Jake whispered, he rubbed Lucy's back. Lucy groaned and rolled over in bed.
"What?" She mumbled. Jake smiled and pulled her into his chest,
"I love you."
"I love you too." Lucy mumbled into his bare chest. Jake kissed the top of her head then her lips. Lucy pulled Jake ontop of her...

Lucy woke suddenly and grinned to herself about the memories. She climbed out the helicopter and shook her arms, she pulled off her blazer and shirt to reveal an old graying vest and pulled off her pants and grabbed a pair of spair training camo pants. Lucy grabbed her trainers and tied them. She stood up and pulled on a snapback and began running.

---

Sweat dripped down Lucy's back as she ran towards Jackson's apartment. She lept into the lift and sat down,
"What am I going to say?" She panted.

The doors opened and she stood up,
"Jackson?" Lucy yelled.
A gray version of Jackson walked towards her,
"Lucy?"
Lucy smiled and hugged him.

"I don't understand?" Jackson stuttered

"I will explain later. We need to leave, wheres Jenny?"

"She moved to Calafornia. With her husband, Vincent."

Lucy blinked quickly at this news,
"When did this happen?"

"They married last year."

"Oh. Right, as long as she is away from here."

"What, why?"

"I will explain later. We need to leave." Lucy looked around the apartment, pack anything that you love." Lucy sighed. Jackson mumbled to himself and began collecting his photographs.
Lucy lent against the cool wall and sighed. She looked at the door which lead to her room, she walked slowly towards it and pushed it open.

Her room was gone. Her four post bed was replaced with a desk covered in paperwork and her shelves were full of books. Lucy shook off the sharp pain in her chest and walked back to the living room.

"How long has it been since your last appointment?" Jackson asked as he returned with a bag. Lucy smiled to herself,
"Way too long."

Jackson shook his head and stepped into the lift. Lucy rubbed her neck and looked at Jackson,
"A few months"

"And you don't care?"

"I will explain later dad."

"Where are we going?"
Lucy sighed and shut her eyes.

"Everyone is being evacuated"

"Why?"

"Someone launched Missle Nine- My missle."

"It sounds like your name."

"That was the idea."

"Why did you make it?"

"I don't know, I was told I had to help with the weapon construction."

"Oh."

The lifts doors opened and Lucy grabbed Jackson's back,
"Lets get out of here"

Lucy pulled out her phone and dialled for the helicopter. She looked at the time, 12:59.

"Two hours left." She mumbled to herself.

CHAPTER FOUR

Lucy helped Jackson into the helicopter and put his back next to him,
"I'm not coming. I have to stay and help everyone else leave."

Jackson's face dropped and he kissed Lucy lightly on her head,
"Be safe."

"I will dad."

Lucy began to walk away as the helicopter took off. She clenched her jaw and shook her hands. She turned to her squad,
"You might survive if we are quick. Get everyone onto the choppers tell them to grab what they love most and leave." Lucy's squad nodded and began separating.
Lucy jumped into the back of the truck and picked up the microphone.

"Everyone," Lucy said,
"I am Sargent Lucy Ninne. I'm here to help you evacuate, pack a small bag of possessions you wish to keep. If you must take pets. Keep them on a leash."

Sirens blasted through the air as the truck drove down the streets. Lucy repeated her message over and over, she watched as helicopters filled with people flew away.

She glanced at her phone- 1:59.
Lucy bit her lip, "one hour" she mumbled.
She looked back up at the helicopters. Lucy wiped her tears,
"This has to work."
