Chapter One: A Beautiful, Young Girl named Katia

There was once a beautiful, young girl named Katia who lived with her father and three younger brothers. She lived a very terrible life because her mother died while giving birth to her three brothers because they were triplets. Her father never wanted a daughter and hated Katia especially because she had weird eyes. They were a beautiful light blue. Anyway, they wanted to make use out of her so they practically made her the family slave. This started when she was only ten years old. She is sixteen now and her father and three little brothers still treated her like a slave.

Her father always went to the pub and left her brothers at home for her to look after. They were little terrors like most 6 year olds but their father spoilt them a lot and told them specifically to disrespect Katia. She had no friends because her father took her out of school after her mother died.

"David, Michael, Henry, dinner's ready." she called out to her three little brothers. They all came rushing in because they were always hungry much like most six year old boys. "What is it?" Henry asked rudely as he walked in. "It's a lamb-roast, like father said he wanted, remember?" she replied. "Oh yeah!" Michael yelled as he stuffed his face with the meat. "Don't get too messy while I go and get father." she said while walking out the door. "We don't have to listen to you! Dad said so!" David said while spitting out pieces of roast potato. She ignored them and walked up to our father's room door and knocked on it. "Dinner's ready, father." she called. "I'll be out in a minute." he grunted. "Okay father." she called back. She went back into the dining room and she looked at the boys who had already made a mess. "Boys, please eat slower! You're going to hurt yourself!" she said. "Whatever, Katia" Michael snorted as he kept stuffing his face. She sighed and waited for our father to come in and start eating before she did. It was one of the many rules she had to follow. Their father came in and said "How is it boys? Is it good? Or is it bad?".  "It's not the best we've had." Michael said. "She could've done better." David chimed in. "Yeah, a lot better!" Henry chimed in as well. The boys knew that if they said the roast was bad, Katia would get in trouble. They liked seeing her get in trouble because their father had taught them not to like her. "Well then..." their father said before sitting down. I guess Katia will have cart duties tomorrow... AGAIN!" their father said. "I pretty much own that cart." she mumbled to herself. "What was that, Katia?" their father asked. "I said okay, father." I replied. "Do we have attitude now do we?" their father asked. "No father, I promise!" she said desperately. She hated having to do extra things then what she already had to do. "Just eat" their father said.

She finished her dinner and went to her room under the staircase. She pulled out her diary and her life savings that we're in a little jar. She wrote in her diary.

Dear Diary,                                                                                                                                              I feel like running away like always. I hate my life so much. We just finished dinner and as always, I'm going to have to clean the dishes after they're done. They have such a nice life thanks to me. I've cut my self a lot lately. Father saw one of them and screamed at me. I wish I had some more money so I could run away. My life savinigs is $12. 25. And that's only from stealing some of the money I made from the cafe cart when I'd have a succesful day. Even if I did run away, where would I go? Where could I go? I'm trapped in my stupid life. I served some school kids about my age yesterday at the cafe cart. I wonder what school would be like? I've schooled myself for 10 years now. I can't remember anything about school.

"KATIA! WE'RE FINISHED OUR DINNER NOW. GET OUT HERE NOW!" Katia heard her father call her but she wondered if she should go or not. She wanted to kill herself and if she didn't do what her father told her to, he would probably kill her anyway. "KATIA!!!"" She thought about it a bit more then she got up and walked into the dining room.

She started collecting the plates and glasses off of the table.

The boys finished up and went of to play upstairs in their room and their father finished a few minutes after them but he didn't go straight back to his room like he always did. "Katia, I've been thinking and I've come to the realisation that you cost me a lot of money..." he said. "WHAT!" she interupted. "I do EVERYTHING for you pigs!" she screamed. "Don't you DARE speak to me like that, girl. All I was about to say is that you're getting older now and I think that it's time that if you want to stay here that you're going to need to start paying rent." "ARE YOU SERIOUS!" she screamed. "I HATE it here! You guys have treated me so badly ever since mum died!" she said. "FINE!" her father yelled back at her. "You can no longer live here! Go and find some place to live because it certainly isn't going to be here!" her father yelled. "Pack up the things you do have and get out of here! I want you out by midnight!". "FINE" she screamed back and stormed to a closet under the staircase where all of her stuff was. "You can have the cart but that's all you can have!" her father yelled out from the dining room. Katia ignored him and she managed to pack everything she owned into a small suitcase and she opened the front door but before she walked out she screamed "Mum would be ashamed of you!". Then she walked out and slamed the door.
