Chapter 14
The boy didn't shed any tears, and Rick stated at me. "Daryl. Let's go!" He grabbed my arm to pull me away, but I flinched and elbowed him in the face. "Shit, man, I'm sorry!" He was already tending to the bloody nose I had caused.
"Rick!" He glared at me and grabbed my shirt to pull me away. The shirt ripped and I fell to my knees. Ain't this a dandy time for him to find out about my scars.
I stood on my knees for a while before reacting to it by trying to fix my shirt. "Daryl.." I was silent and he made me turn around. "Wha?!" I was about to flinch again, but Rick didn't need a broken nose.
"Sorry.." He looked down at the scars, then away. "Shouldn' be, Ya didn't do nothin'.." I murmured and responded to him. "Your scars though.."
"Ya didn't cause em, Rick!" I stood up, unable to fix my shirt. "I'm sorry for what happened!"
I stared him in the eyes and whispered harshly. "Shit Happens.."
