Missed Call

Karkat picked up his phone. It was June 12th, his birthday. Every year, Dave would be there for his birthday. But today, he didn't come.

He scrolled through his contacts and came across Dave's.

Pressing call, a single tear fell down his cheek.

He must've forgotten about me.

It rang for a bit then went to voicemail.

Gog Damnit.

Why wont he answer? Doesn't he love me?

I forgot that I was still in my KatMan hero uniform. I ran upstairs and changed into my turtleneck and sweatpants. I sat on my bed and tried to call him again.

It rang again and then went to voicemail.

Karkat, crying, looked at his hands. Tears fell into his palms. Holy shit, he must not care anymore.

He called again and it still went to voicemail.

"WHAT THE FUCK STRIDER!" He yelled as he threw his phone at the wall, but still leaving it intact.

He had enough. Karkat's face was drenched with red translucent tears. He walked down the stairs.
