It's Just A Lie, Chapter 2
Riley's POV
My hands started to tremble, causing my face to flush white. I start to eye Michelle, looking for a phone in her hands but, showed no evidence. Maybe she hid it. Maybe this all just a coincidence, I mean they do happen right? My head feels like it's starting to spin, as I slip away my phone into my jean pocket.
"Ri.... you alright?" James asks turning me around as i'm walking away. I felt his hand rest on my shoulder, and his eyes burn into the back of my skull making my body tense up. "Riles..."
"WHAT?" I yell snapping my head, to face him. "I told you i'm fine so just quit asking!" That second the guilt, shuddered all over me but I had to keep my head held high, and maybe he'll get the point i'm not aloud to see him, or tell him about the texts. I could feel there eyes burning into the back of my skull, so I just walked directly into the empty change room, sitting up against a white bricked wall, leaving the door open a sliver so I could hear what there saying.
"Is she always like this?"
"No, but it's been three years since--" James began but Michelle cut him off.
"Her friend... went missing," How the did she know? She's looking more and more guilty each second.
"Yeah and-- wait how'd you know that?" James asked, clearly more surprise then me. Maybe he's putting the pieces together better then I thought.
"Well, it was in the paper this morning, so I just assumed..."
"Well, then good guess," He laughed it off, with some suspicion still in his voice. I could feel, his smirk through the wall. "So have you talked to Kate and Chris yet?"
"Oh, guess I should do that," Innocence. That's what she's made of, maybe i'll get lucky and she won't join A-troupe. One can only hope. A sharp breath hits me as they hug. It couldn't be jealously. It shouldn't be jealously. I refuse to think i'm jealous, if he wants to hug her then hug her. I turn back, looking forward at the clock. 15 minutes until I get to dance, let's get my mind on that.
I pulled my body, steady on my feet scurrying through my bag looking for my blue tank top. My hand tugs it over my head, and I pull up my black shorts, tying my boring brown hair into a ponytail. I stand in front of the dressing room mirror examining myself. Deep breaths, sharp turns, head in the game.
Footsteps start to apporch the door, that's now opening. I whip around my bag, shrieking, almost knocking out the person behind me. "Emily! I almost killed you!"
"With a pink backpack?" She stared at me like I was some strange, creature from a different planet.
"Well, I didn't know who it was. You could at least knock first!"
"Well, Ri--"
"Besides how do you know that I wasn't just in my bra or..."
"Riley seriously! Do you know about this new girl?" Emily, blurts out in my face, crossing her arms against her chest.
"N-new girl? Umm n-noo what girl?" I lie, my voice shakes but I don't think it's that noticeable.
"I don't know but she can't just walk in here thinking she can audition." Her wicked tone, kind of startles me, but if Michelle wants to play some of her games, my sister's going to have 0 tolerance for that. Maybe my sister's getting the texts too! But if she's not and I ask, what is M going to do to me? Maybe just maybe... Wait I second i'm zoning out again. I flip back into reality, where my sister's blue eyes are staring at me with an intense glare.
