Niall's POV
The second Camila left the office, I tried getting into her desk but I couldn't. She'd locked it and taken said key with her.
I pondered my next plan of action with the short, blonde I was dangerously falling for. I could convince her to trust me in hopes she hasn't already searched my name.
Oh! Her computer!
I sat down at her desk and tapped a key on the kepboard. Her screen came to life and it was on the homescreen. There was a photo with her and I assume her best friends. She looked good in the photo.
I clicked until I found her search engine. I checked the history but no such luck. As far as I know, she has no idea who I really am.
I went back to the proposals and finished reading them fairly quickly. I was about to leave for lunch when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." I called out.
The door opened and I recognized the person as Ryder from publicity. "Mr. Horan!" He said cheerfully. "Just the person I was looking for."
I turned my chair and pulled one of Camila's over. "Take a seat, Ryder."
He sat down and looked at me quizically. "What's your goal here?"
"Excuse me?"
"I know all about you Mr. Horan. Camila may not, but I do. So I'll ask you again, what is you goal here?"
I shrugged, "I just want to be back in the business world. I've been out of it for too long."
"Well if your father was still alive he would have an agenda. I need to make sure you don't have one."
"I don't Ryder. I just needed a job and I wanted back in the business."
He shook his head. "A part of me doesn't believe you, but I trust Camila's judgment a lot more than most people here. Just make sure you have her best interest at heart, Mr. Horan. She's young and can sometimes be blindsided by people she trusts. She trusts you already. Don't make her regret it." He stood up. "That's all. Just reply to the email I sent you this morning as soon as possible so I can get you into the next issue of the magazine."
I nodded. "Alright. Have a good day."
"You too."
The door burst open just after four in the afternoon.
"Niall!"
I turned in my chair. "Hey. How was it?"
"Crappy. It was crappy!" Camila leaned against the closed door. "I hate high school. It's like social suicide." She pushed herself away from the door and walked over to my desk. Her bag dropped to the floor as she hopped on my desk and dangled her legs in front of me. "How was your day?" She asked softly.
I trailed my hands up her legs to rest on her thighs. "It was alright. Not too shabby."
"Good." She smiled down at me. Her green eyes were bright and very aware of the lack of space between us. "Can I be honest?"
"Please." I encouraged.
"I couldn't stop thinking about you," she paused, "here alone. All day."
"Why is that?" I asked quietly, studying her beautiful face.
"You fuck with my head every time you touch me." She whispered, leaning her head down toward me. "I was ready to get through my day but then you kissed me and it all went to shit."
I chuckled quietly. "Sorry, love. What can I do to make up for that?"
"Stop kissing me." She breathed out softly.
