A/N - I'm aiming to put out one of these chapters a day.

2 years later on her 18th birthday, Celeste woke up in utter pain. "Gabriel!" she screamed.

Her best friend and guardian came into the room.

"Make it stop", she gasped.

"I can't".

"What do you mean you can't?"

"You do to this by yourself. I'm sorry".

"What's happening Gabe?"

"You're becoming what's been in your blood since your birth".

"What hell is that supposed to mean! Now is not the time to be Mr. Cryptic Archangel!"

Celeste rolled over to lie on her stomach and buried her face in her pillow.

Gabriel sat down on the bed next to her and gently rubbed her back. "You're going to have to help it along", Gabriel told her, "Focus on my hand. Let it happen".

"Let what happen?!" she cried. She suddenly felt something break the skin on her back, below her shoulder blades. "What's happening?!" she screamed in pain.

The sheets below her were turning red. The pain was like nothing she had ever felt before. Even the car crash felt like nothing compared to this.

It went on like this for more than an hour. By the end, Celeste was sweating and ready to pass out.

Gabriel grabbed a bucket of water and a cloth and gently cleaned her back before covering it in bandages.

Celeste was too out of it to even realize what Gabriel was doing.

It killed Gabriel to see her in so much pain. He stroked her sweat drenched hair and said, "The worst part is over. Rest now".

Celeste closed her eyes and finally succumbed to the exhaustion.

When Celeste came to, it was evening and she had bandages all over her back. She reached out and touched something.

It felt like feathers.

Celeste shot out of bed and went to the mirror and found two shadowy black wings behind her. "GABRIEL!" she screamed.

Gabriel popped into the room. "Calm down, Celeste", he said placing his hands on her shoulders.

She turned to him. "What's going on?" she asked with tears in her eyes.

Gabriel sighed and sat down on her bed. "Cece, your father wasn't your birth father. You're a nephilim. The daughter of an angel and a mortal woman. At 18, they either stay human or become half-angel", Gabriel explained to her.

"Then who is my father?" Celeste asked him.

"I don't know the answer to that. Father told us to protect you. Nothing else".

"But why me? I'm already a freak. How many people can say they can hear and see angels?"

"Like I told you before, Father has plans for you".

"That means...Castiel really was just following orders".

"No. Cas cares for you. I know he does. He just doesn't know how to show it. We angels...the ones of us who have been in Heaven the longest...don't exactly know how to handle human feelings. Cas is struggling at the moment".

It had been two years since Celeste had seen Castiel. She didn't even know if he was still on Earth or back in Heaven. She walked over to a shelf and pulled down a doll. She called it her Castiel doll.

Every time he took a new vessel, he had another one made for her.

As she stroked the doll's hair, Celeste wondered if she would ever see him again.

Months later, Gabriel and Celeste were having dinner when she heard something. She stopped eating and looked around the room, searching for the voice only to realize it was coming from inside her head.

"Celeste, what it is?" Gabriel asked her.

"Can't you hear it?"

"No". Was she having a mental breakdown or something?

"It's the angels. They're talking", Celeste told him. She didn't recognize the voice or rather, voices. They were whispering softly, but they were all whispering one thing.

Dean Winchester is saved from Hell.

"Who's Dean Winchester?" Celeste asked Gabriel.

"What?"

"That's what they're saying. Dean Winchester is saved from Hell. What does that mean?"

Gabriel sighed and looked at her. He was hoping this wouldn't happen.

"What does that mean Gabriel?" Celeste asked again.

"It has begun", was all he said.
