Garroth and I had always been the best of friends. For all of Elementary school we were practically inseparable. Wherever he went, I went. Whatever he did, I did. The only time we weren't together was when we were asleep. But the older we grew, the farther apart we became. I haven't seen Garroth since we started college
But that's about to change today. Garroth invited me to hang out with him for spring break, and at the moment I'm waiting in the train station for him. I'm a little nervous considering the fact I haven't seen him for a year and the small fact that I may love him. Garroth sneaks up behind me and covers my eyes.
"Guess who" He says in a goofy voice and I smile.
"Aaron?" I say and he appears in front of me.
"Who's Aaron?" He asks, jealousy flaring in his eyes. I decide all play with him a bit.
"My boyfriend"
"You have a boyfriend..." He says mostly to himself.
"You shoulda seen your face!" I burst out laughing and he glares at me.
"Whatever" He grumbles
"Awe, is somebody a wittle jealousy?" I say. He grumbles and then picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder.
"Hey!"
"That's what you get for teasing me." He says matter-of-factly. I growl and he chuckles "I'm not putting you down."
I grumble and he pulls my suitcase along with the hand that's not keeping me steady. I eventually give up fighting and lay limp.
Garroth trudges through the crowd as if this is an everyday occurence. People give us weird looks and I start to get uncomfortable.
"Garroth please, people are staring" I beg, my face burning.
"Nope" He says walking out of the train station. He continues to hold me over his shoulder until we get to his sleek black convertible. He then sets me in shotgun, puts my luggage in the back, and gets in.
After arguing for 5 minutes about the radio, I win a game of Rock Paper Scissors and decide that we're going to listen to SXM hits 1.
The drive is pretty boring. We eventually arrive at the Chilies where we were going to meet up with his friends. I'm insanely nervous. We get out of the car and he grabs my hand. I look at him confused.
"I could tell you were nervous" He answers simply and I smile. He always knew how to read me.
We walked into the Chilies, hand in hand. We made are way over to a booth. Their sat 4 people; 2 boys and 2 girls. One boy had light brown hair and baby blue eyes. The other had dark blue hair and deep ocean blue eyes.
Then there were the girls. Both of them were tall and gorgeous making me extremely uncomfortable and a little jealous. One had bright pink hair and piercing, almost cat-like yellow eyes. The other had long, fiery red hair and sky blue eyes.
The brunette was the first the speak.
"Is this your girlfriend Garroth?" He says looking at our intertwined hands. We both blush and suddenly they were all talking.
"If they aren't then Kawaii~chan totally ships them because Kawaii~chan thinks they look so cute together!"
"Oh she is so adorable!"
"Nice hit dude"
I open my mouth to say something but Garroth beats me to it. "Guys, this is my best friend Aphmau. Aphmau, meet Laurence, Dante, Kawaii~chan, and Cadenza." He says, each one waving when their name is said.
I smile and sit down next to Kawaii~chan thinking about Garroth and I, and our intertwined hands under the table.
If this is as close as I can be to him for now, I'll take it.
