Chapter One: Fourth Of July

It was Fourth of July weekend and My mom and dad invited everyone over the house to eat and have a good time. Four O'clock everyone started showing up. Jacey immediately spotted Tamara and pranced her way.
"Tamara you look even better with your hair done then you being lazy and just throwing it up" Jacey laughed leaning in for a hug.
Tamara makes a face and hugs her back.. "Girl I always look good no matter my hairstyle" Tamara says as she winks at her Boyfriend Mark, standing behind her. He smiles at her cockiness.
"Your so silly T" Jacey says still laughing as she glances Alec coming up and standing by her side.
We all talk about how things have been and just catching up by the time we have nothing else to talk about mom calls us all over to eat.
I almost forgot how good mom and dad cook together, Dad is the best on the grill and mom makes the best sides for his main courses. I grab a hamburger and hotdog to start me off and I end with a piece of strawberry shortcake and chocolate pie. I've always had a big appetite till I can remember.
Mammaw and Papaw finally show up, their always either late or early.
I run and give both of them a hug and kiss, I haven't seen them since I moved out.
I moved in with them when I fell out from under my feet in high school and they helped me get back up, it was hard but I finally did.
I lead them towards the party when Jacey comes running our way hugging and kissing them both and grabbing my arm to come with her.
"What do you say we go out for a couple drink? Just you, me, Alec and Mark ? Well come back later" Jacey says with extreme excitement. "We turned 21 last year and yet we still haven't went out together.."
"I don't know.. they haven't even set off the fireworks yet, I don't know if we should leave"
Tamara says cautiously.
"Come on girl ! Just once think about yourself.. Let's have some fun"
After some persuading Jacey finally talked Tamara into going out for a little while. They gather up Mark and Alec and head out. They get to the bar and grill labeled Cowboy Crusher.. And they find an table and order some drinks..
A few hours go by and Tamara lets everyone know it's time to leave.
They pull back up to the house and shut off the car...
They sit in silence till Jacey finally breaks it.
"So Tamara how do you like living on your own ? Is it all its cut out to be ?"
"Ehhh it's okay, of course it's great not having to go by any rules and living in what you call yours."
"Yeah Alec and I have had our place for 2 years now and we love it !" Jacey smiles showing all her teeth.
Tamara laughs and shakes her head at Jacey.
They look up and notice papaw walking over to the car and sitting inside of it obviously waiting on mammaw to come and hurry up.
We must of missed the whole thing, everyone looks like there leaving.
Tamara and Jacey start to get out of the car to go talk to there grandpa when they notice a car pull up slowly beside his car and jump out pulling papaw out of the car, kicking him and throwing him into there car. Tamara and Jacey start to run towards the car when this man throws his hand up in the air and Jacey goes flying through the air, Tamara jumps out of the way and runs and kicks one guy in the stomach and goes in for a punch on the other guy but he grabs her by the throat and slams her into the car... Holding her there Tamara glances in the strangers back seat and sees her grandfather. Badly injured, barely being able to look at him, Jacey comes through and elbow kicks the stranger in the back, while fighting off the other. Tamara getting her grip she fights on one as well.
Until one gets out of the drives eat and yells "enough!" While raising his hands. Freezing Jacey and Tamara in there tracks. The other two men smile at one another and get in the car as well behind the first.
Still frozen Tamara and Jacey watch as there grandfather gets taken away. Finally the hold is broken and they fall down.
Mammaw walks up and asks were "Papaw done ran off too?"
Jacey and Tamara just look at one another in complete horror.
