I pulled the key from my black jean pockets. Leaning over picking through the obnoxious many keys. Catching the right one and pushing it the lock, and twisting it randomly till I heard the click, indicating the door locked. I tried the doorknob just in case but it held firm.

I put my keys back in my pocket, stepping off the back cement step. I was standing in the middle of a medium sized alley.

I started down the alley, half jogging in the cold. It was early August and the leaves were turning a pale yellow, and there was a chill in the air.

I made it out the dark alley. Slowing my pace to glance up at the nearly visible moon. The moon glowed a haze white and only two or three stars poked their way through all the lights of the city.

I shifted and turned my head to the giant Taco Bell sign placed on top of the building. It glowed just as softly as the moon.

A breeze picked up and ignoring the large empty parking lot. I jogged the long distance to my car. A Honda *input*. I got out my keys again. I pressed the open car door on the remote hanging from my key chain.

I threw open the car door and jumped in. Shutting and locking all the doors. I pushed the key in the ignition blasting the heater. Letting myself warm up before driving.

"Mew."

I jumped. A cat? Out now?

"Mew."
