"Um... Aleksia? What on earth is this?" Vance, My boyfriend of six months held up a piece of paper.
"That? Oh, nothing. It's from my high school years." I smiled innocently and tried to take it from him. He held it away from me and put a finger to my lips.
"Hush dearest... I'm not going to show anyone... but I could help you with it...." His voice was practically a growl as he moved his mouth to side of my neck. I gasped as I felt two fangs brush across my skin.
"Y-you're a Vampire?" I half-moaned, pressing myself against the wall. All he did was laugh and whisper:
"Do you want to become one too?" I bit my lip and thought about all the names on that paper, all those people I longed to kill.... and focused on one.
"Yes." I began, "I do... so I can finally get rid of that list, and that person."
...I've never been the same since...
I looked out at my reflection on the bus window; I showed my fangs and smiled. It had been two years since then. Since my world had become so delightfully tasty.
"E-excuse me sir?" A little girl, only about eight or nine stood, looking at me. "C-can I sit with you?" I was taken aback by this, and simply nodded in reply. She sat down next to me and smiled hesitantly.
"I-if it's ok sir... Can you hide me from someone?" She whispered to me. I leaned towards her,
"That depends, why are they looking for you?"
"B-because... I ran away from home... my daddy was kissing me funny and touching me..." She broke down, and for only the second time in my life, I hugged a child.
"I swear I will hide you, no... I swear I will protect you." I held her tightly. "What's your name kiddo?" I asked lightly, not expecting a response.
"L-lucy Sir..." I laughed,
"Please, don't call me 'sir'." I smiled at her, "I'm Aleksia, and I ran away from home too." She looked up at me with wet, shining eyes, like an anime character almost.
"Y-you did?" She smiled, "Does that make us friends?"
"Y-yeah... I guess it does..." I looked away, If only you knew Lucy...
"What's wrong A-Lek-See-Ah?" She smiled, "Was that how you say it?" I nodded and didn't look back, "Aleksia, You're not okay." She giggled, pushing my face into a smile, "Be happy! You're my only friend!"
"Look, Lucy... there's something about me though..." She nodded,
"You're a vampire, aren't you?" She giggled like it was normal, and I stared at her like she had eaten a can of worms. "That's okay Aleksia! Just don't bite me! That kills me, or turns me into a vampire too, doesn't it?"
"U-um.... yeah.... You're quite smart, aren't you?" I patted her head softly and she giggled again,
"Yup! Mhmm! I already read Dracula when I was Seven!" I stared at her again, "It was a scary book! But I liked it!"
"You're insane." Was all I could think to say, which would've been rude, but remember, this is a nine year old girl who willingly sat and befriended a vampire after reading Dracula when she was Seven. I'm pretty sure she took it as a compliment.
"You are too!" She booped my nose, something only a few people are allowed to do. All I could do was laugh, right up until the next bus stop. A large man charged on, and Lucy whimpered softly.
"Get under the seat. Now." I commanded softly, my eyes flicking to red. "And don't look."
