As Mom drove me to school, it was a Tuesday, I held my hand down and smiled at it. I was making little snow people and watching them run around on my palm. There was a mother, pushing a carriage that had a little tiny snow baby, a father with his arm cocked back to throw the snowball in his hand at the other two children playing about. The little snow girl, she looked a lot like me, squealed and covered her head while her snow brother run straight at his father and tackled him to the ground. With the snow mother now scolding the two snow men, I waved my hand over the laughing family and they all disappeared into a flurry of snow.

"You know, you shouldn't be doing that in public Lil." Mom said and my grin faded quickly. I slid the brown leather glove back over my fingers and clipped the button to hold it shut. I nodded and reached into my bag to grab the current book I was reading. It was one of my favorites, Maximum Ride, I loved the series. It was as if I could relate to the flock on a personal level. It sounds cheesy I know because they are fictional characters, but I know what it's like to never quite feel normal. To have to hide who you truly are, true I'm not being chased by freaks in labcoats and I don't have wings or am a mutant bird hybrid... But to me it's all the same. I never get to see just how powerful I am because if I did, my nightmare would only come true quicker.

We rolled into the drop off ramp and I hopped out, giving Mom a kiss and saying "I love you!" As I walked up the ramp I heard a familiar voice and started to walk quicker.

"Oh look ladies! It's the book freak. Come on girls, we have some lessons to teach..." the sneering voice got closer and I risked a glance behind me and sure enough, Charity, Elyza, and Rebecca were standing right there. I looked at the door and broke into a jog trying to get away from the three devils of this school. But as I reached the for the door handle, someone grabbed my wrist and tossed me to the ground, scattering my things across the lawn. When I looked up, I saw one of the guys from the football team. He was far bigger than I was and there was no way I was getting past him.

"Get away from me and leave me alone Charity." I growled out. The redhead's eyes widened in mock shock and she turned to her friends giggling.

"What?! The bookworm talks? Wow! I thought she was a mute..." her sidekicks laughed and shot me awful stares. I rolled my eyes and started picking up my things, trying to keep a hold on my emotions. If I let go, there would be some severe thunderstorms...

"Look, just stay away from me okay? You don't understand, just leave me be and I won't hurt you." I pleaded, as the football player tugged me back words against the brick wall and produced a roll of duct tape. Now it was my turn for my eyes to widen.

"No! Stop, you don't understand! Get away from me, please." I begged but the boy didn't stop and he taped my hands over my head and bent down to my stomach, then my ankles. I couldn't move and I was feeling the blood drain from my arms. As the football boy backed away to survey his work, he smirked and turned away, nodding at Charity.

"Alright so when do I get those $20?" he asked questioningly.

"Oh no, you aren't done," Charity made a pouty face and leaned forward, "I'll give you $50 and a little treat if you punch and kick her a few times..." The boy was gone in an instant, nodding excitedly and heading over to me. My eyes got even wider and I realized he was actually going to do it. I saw Elysa and Rebecca take out their phones and point them at me. Oh, my, God. They were going to video this?! I tried one last time to plead for freedom but was cut off as I felt the boy's fist connect with my ribs. As soon as the pain exploded, so did a clap of thunder above our heads. I cried out and felt my knees buckle, the guy was a lot stronger than anticipated. But the duct tape held me up. Not even seconds later, another punch was landed on my stomach. I felt my ample breakfast starting to come up.
