Broken promises...

Phil's P.O.V

Haha I lied. On accident of course. Dan didn't regain his memory, which meant I had too. The thought sent shivers through my spine.

Sometimes on the first shift, a wolf completely forgets their memory. If it isn't back after a night, it won't come back naturally. The only way to make it come back is to have another wolf bite him. Biting, isn't some nice little bite that painless, it's a huge chomp that HURTS! It feels like how it sounds, a wolf biting you... Generally you want to get as close to the neck as possible with out actually hurting them by biting the neck. That's why you'd bite the shoulders. It's just, I'm not sure if he'd be okay with me BITING him... Right now he's scared of my wolf form so me biting him willingly is out of the question.

I snuck up behind him quietly, I got fairly close and *SNAP* I bit him... He screamed, and I felt horrible. There was a good bit of blood, but frankly the bite was pretty clean. He whimpered before, for the third time slipping into unconsciousness.

Dans P.O.V

I felt so sore. My whole body ached. My shoulder felt like it'd been stabbed. I opened my eyes and saw Phil. I just randomly jumped up and tackle-hugged him. His raven hair was so adorable! No... What am I saying. I was mad at him for gods sake.

"Hey! You remember anything?" He asked looking at me carefully, "What? Ya..." I said and then felt horrible pain in my shoulder. "Be careful!" He warned "Your shoulder will need time to heal!" He added "What happened?" I asked "How much do you remember? You remember me, right Dan?" He asked nervously "Yeah, I remember shifting wolf then coming back then the rest is sort of fuzzy" I said honestly "Ahh... Well something happened and you forgot your memory. To retrieve it I-" he stopped and seemed to have to collect himself. "I had to b-bite you..." He said quietly. "What..." I was shocked.

I ran to the pond and looked down. A very big gash was on my shoulder. There was a lot of blood. "Y-you did this?" I asked, he only nodded "I had too! You'd not have a memory! Please Dan! Stay! Please!!!" The way he said that broke my heart. Before I knew it the boy was on his knees howling, then he was wolf.

"Phil? What's wrong? It's okay I promise I'll never leave! I'll stay don't worry!" He looked up at me, his eyes were distant and full of sadness and fear, he was remembering some distant past. "Dan.." He said only that before mumbling something else, "What?" I asked "Do you still hate me?" He asked quietly looking down fearful of my answer. Why would I- oh I remember.

I got up quickly a ran... Just ran.. I wish I hadn't. Wish I had heard Phil cry for me to come back, hear him call my name, hear his said sobs and voice fade into nothing followed by mournful howls. The saddest part is, I did...
