Galloping down a gray cobblestone path is
where I first saw him. His brown shaggy
hair blown back by the speed of his
stallion. His blue-green eyes lit with with
fierce determination. I was awestruck.
When he slowed, he glanced my direction.
At first he seemed to not notice my eyes
examining him. Then he turned back
around to look at me. This time, he took
the time to look me up and down, fully
aware that I was watching him. As he
studied me, I could feel my cheeks
flushing. I was fascinated with the way
his eyes were burning into mine the
second his eyes met mine. So full of
emotion, so full of desire, so full of…
“Where ya’ headed?” he asked, sliding off
his horse and taking steps towards me,
snapping me out of my daze.
“That’s a good question,” I replied dully.
“Well, that’s unfortunate. I was going to
give you a lift to where ever you were
goin’,” he answered almost sarcastically,
but somehow I knew he was serious.
“I never said that I couldn’t use a lift to
where ever my destination may be,” I
remarked smartly.
“Name’s Dalton,” he said seriously.
“Care,” I said holding his gaze, with the
slightest smile on my face.
The corners of Dalton's mouth turned up
revealing the most gorgeous smile I had
ever seen.
His teeth gleamed almost as bright as the
stars, every single one in exactly the
perfect place. I had never seen a smile as
beautiful as his.
I snapped back into reality when I heard
his voice.
“We’d better get moving then.”
“Mhm,” was my only response
considering it was the only noise my
throat could manage at the moment.
He grabbed my hand to help me up on to
his black stallion. As soon as his skin
touched mine, a rush of adrenaline came
pouring though my body. When I was up
on the saddle, I looked down just in time
to see dalton swing himself up with so
much grace, it was unbelieveable. He
reached his strong, tan arms around me
and grabbed the reins. He kicked his
horse in the side and we started off.
After a few moments, he took one had off
the leather strap and around the front of
my waist pulling me closer to him, and he
left it there. His massive hand holding my
side.
