Chapter Sixteen

Mason Black

After last nights meeting, we all went to bed and at around midnight Sarah mind linked me because she had a nightmare so I ended up sleeping in her room with her in my arms. The beautiful sight of her when I woke up brought a smile on my face.

Right now I'm with her, Josh, and Dennis teaching Redwood women and kids basic moves while Steve is with Joan and Kevin doing some combat training with the packs Warriors.

"Alright kid, hit me with your best shot" I say to the thirteen year old boy after Dennis shows him some moves. He nails it and I try not show that he actually hurt my ribs
"Good job" I say high fiving him then he walks off and I groan holding my ribs
"He got you good" Sarah teases, I shake my head
"I have a feeling he doesn't like me" I say, she pouts teasingly
"Poor alpha isn't liked by a twelve year old" She says in a baby voice, I flick her forehead
"Shut up" I say, she just laughs

Then the scent of home hits me, I turn around to see my parents walking out of the forest.
"Babe, I'll be right back" I say, Sarah nods then I walk over to them. My mom smiles at the sight of me
"How's it going over there Mas?" Dad asks as Mom hugs me tightly
"It's going really well. I'm confident in everything going well here" I say, he nods
"You need to feel confident that way the packs feel your energy and feel that way themselves" Mom says, I nod
"Thank you guys for being here, honestly I wasn't ready for this but the time I've been here, preparing everyone, prepared me and you guys being here helps a shit ton as well" I say, Mom pinches me after saying 'shit'
"Language but we were going to come either way" She says
"You're our son, you were ready long ago Mason, you just didn't have it in you to admit it" Dad says, I smile.

2 Days Later

"Steve bro, are you sure you'll make it back by tonight?" I ask, he nods
"Positive, I'm faster than you Mas so don't worry about it" He says, I punch him as he laughs and we walk outside to see Kevin along with four of his packs warriors ready. Joan went after some vampires that were involved in a small attack we went through earlier today, he ran after them with some other warriors and they got ambushed.

He's really hurt so Steve is going to go get him and hopefully be back tonight because Levi feels that tonight is when Sarah's dad attacks head on.
"Be safe" I say, he nods and we bro hug
"I'll be back before you know it bro, don't miss me too much" He says then winks and I roll my eyes as Sarah makes her way out with Cindy
"Be careful out there Steve" Sarah says, he nods
"Please baby, come back to me whole" Cindy says as he grabs her by the waist and I hold Sarah next to me as they kiss.

Yesterday morning I woke up to the news that Cindy is Steves mate and they have been all lovey dovey since they accepted each other right away. I look down at my beautiful mate and smile as she looks anywhere but at the two kissing.
"Alright babe, I'll be back tonight" Steve says and I look at him
"Mind link if anything happens" I say, he nods

"You too, if they attack and I'm not here. Tell me" He says, I nod then he kisses his mate once more and turns to Kevin and his warriors
"Lets go!" He says, his Alpha tone clear, they run into the woods disappearing from sight.

"I'm going to keep her company or she'll loose her mind worrying" Sarah says to me as Cindy starts to walk away, I nod quickly kissing her lips then she goes after her friend wrapping an arm around her as they walk. I sigh then see Josh coming over from around the house
"Mas, what's your call?" He asks, I lick my lips as Dennis comes out from the house towards us

"We'll set everyone up in various circles around the pack house, we'll keep the ones that are stronger and ready to kill here closest to the house. We'll have all the women and children in the safe room, Sarah and Cindy can handle that" I pause licking my lips, "We just have to make sure the circle spreads far and wide so that we know when they're coming. Once they hit the first circle everyone will start coming back so they know we know they're here" I say, they nod taking it all in

"Let's go tell the packs then" Dennis says, I nod and we go to the pack house where Drew is in the living room with my Dad and Chad.
"Drew we have a plan" I say, their eyes land on me and they stand
"Lets talk in my study" He says leading us to it. We step inside as my Mom and Mandy reach us, they all sit except me.
"Whats the plan?" Drew asks, all eyes on me and I start telling them what I told Josh and Dennis outside.
