Eighteen: Overprotective

You lay on Mettaton's chest peacefully with his arms wrapping around your bare body.

"Best Monday ever," you muttered to Mettaton.

"Yes, that was quite enjoyable," he giggled lowly and proceeded to kiss your forehead gently.

"I wonder how Frisk is doing," you stated.

"Would you like to visit him?" Mettaton offered.

"Yeah, but let me shower first," you kissed his cheek and left for the bathroom.

"I should get cleaned up too," Mettaton got up as well.

After you two cleaned up, you headed towards the hospital. You held Mettaton's hand the whole time you drove. You really did love him.

"You okay, hon?" The robot asked turning to you. "You seem awfully...quiet."

"I'm fine, I just...I love you so much," you told him and squeezed his hand.

"I love you too, sweetheart," he kissed your hand.

It wasn't long before you arrived to the hospital. You knew exactly where he was so you got the passes and headed towards his room. You looked inside and saw your little boy reading a book.

Still, you gently knocked on the door. The boy looked over at you with a little smile.

"Hey, (y/n)," Frisk greeted.

"Heya, kiddo," you walked over to kiss his forehead. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay, I guess. Hi, Mettaton."

"Hello, darling. It's so good to see you again," Mettaton smiled and gently placed a hand on the kid's head.

"Your YouTube show is doing good, I assume?"

"It's...a work in progress, I suppose."

"So, what's new?" Frisk asked putting the book on his lap.

You and Mettaton looked at each other. Frisk smirked knowing exactly what was going on.

"No way! You guys got together? Yes! I've been waiting for this moment!" Frisk cheered.

Mettaton chuckled and you smiled.

"Kiss!" He ordered.

You and Mettaton laughed and kissed each other.

"I can't take all of the cuteness!" Frisk squealed.

You released the kiss and walked over to Frisk's bed and sat down.

"Frisk, I...I need to tell you something," you said in a serious manner.

"That you're my real mother, right?"

"How did you-"

"Dad already told me."

"Darn it, Zachary."

"It's okay, mom. I understand," Frisk told you. "Dad explained everything. I'm not mad at you or anything, it would've been nice if you'd told me, but you were probably nervous."

"So...you aren't upset that all this time, I was your real mother and you could've killed yourself falling down Mt. Ebott, and-"

"Mom, stop it, I'm okay now, and it's fine that I know the truth now. It makes me feel better to have a mom and know she's my real mom."

You smiled lovingly. "I love you, son."

"I love you too, mommy," Frisk said.

"So sweet," Mettaton squealed.

"Totally," said Zach from behind.

"Zachary," Mettaton growled and stood in front of you defensively.

"Whoa, so defensive all of a sudden! What did I miss?"

"Metta, it's alright," you said soothingly. "We're friends now."

"I dunno, (y/n). He's got a weird look on his face."

"Dad? What are you doing here?" Frisk asked.

"Just wanted to visit my son, honestly," Zachary stated.

"One more scan," Mettaton stated solemnly.

"Mettaton, there's no need," you tried to tell him.

He still scanned him, but stepped aside when he felt it was safe. He held your hand.

"Well then, now that that's over with, hello, (y/n), Frisk. How are you?" Zach asked.

"Hi, Zach, sorry about Metta here," you nudged Mettaton.

"He's probably overprotective of you because you're a couple now," Frisk noted.

"A couple?" Zach asked.

"Yeah, I'm her boyfriend," Mettaton announced.

Zach growled and you noticed his hand moving towards something you couldn't see.

"Um...what're you doing?" You asked confusedly.

"Huh? Oh, nothing...heh," he moved his hand.

Frisk raised an eyebrow knowing he was about to RESET.

"Can I talk to daddy alone, please?" Frisk asked.

"Of course, honey," I smiled, "I have to talk to Mettaton, anyway. Come on."

"Aww, what did I do?" Mettaton pouted as he followed you out of the room.

Zach's POV~

"What do you think you're doing?" Frisk asked.

"I'm just gonna RESET one time," I told him. "I just want us to be a family again."

"What? But...Mettaton and mommy just got together. You can't ruin their relationship. It wouldn't be right."

"But...don't you want a family? Your real mom and dad? Our son?" I asked him. "Frisk, I never got the chance to watch you grow up. I was never there for you, your mom got to you before I did. Frisk, haven't you wanted that family you never had?"

"Yeah, but there's another way. You and mommy are still my real parents. We can work this out."

"I thought you would be on my side, but...I guess not everyone understands what I had to go through."

Your POV~

"What do you think you're doing?" You asked the robot as soon as you were out of earshot from Frisk and Zach.

"I don't trust him, not one bit," Mettaton held your hand. "Something's up with him and...I just...I don't want you getting hurt."

You smiled kindly. "Thank you, Mettaton, but it's okay. Zach's a good guy who just made a bad decision...that I helped fulfill, but he's fine."

"You sure?" Mettaton asked still a little unsure.

"I'm positive," you told him then kissed his cheek.

Mettaton sighed. "Alright then. If you feel comfortable, I...guess, I'll just have to try my best to do so. For you."

"I love you," you hugged him. "My overprotective love-robot."

"Love you too, darling," Mettaton kissed your forehead. "I really really do love you, (y/n)."

You smiled and lay your head on his pink chest plate.

"Ready to go back in?" You asked.

"Only if you are, love."

"Okay."

The two of you walked back into Frisk's room.

"Oh, hey, I was just about to leave," Zach said.

Mettaton muttered something incomprehensible.

"Okay, we'll see you!" you hugged him.

"Bye," Zach waved and left.
