I've been wallowing in self pity for the past two days now. Yes, two days. I was depressed. It wasn't even the official start of summer before I was ditched. I have nothing to do; I've already written a few poems, & watched vintage short films. & I've already finished reading Subliminal Dust yesterday. It was 6 a.m. & I was stumped. Usually, I wouldn't even be up at this time, but I can't sleep, knowing my only friends were off to do something less vital than hanging out with me.
Sure, my anti-war radicalness could get a slight bit annoying but SO ?! They're my friends, they have to put up with me. Ugh, life is sometimes atrociously unfair - I sighed, softly. "..Is this Marci Bright ?" I continued, squeezing my eyes shut tightly. & then something so satire, it was unbelievable happened. The girl on the other end was Marci Bright. My body froze.
"Uhh, it depends who's asking," she purred, possibly a wink coming with it. Silently scoffing, I mustered up a response.
"It's Joey - from school. The transfer student." Okay, that was partially true. His name wasn't Joey but he was a foreign exchange student from the UK, which is super interesting. It isn't like she'd know his name, anyways.
"Ooooohhhh, heyyy. You know I've never noticed how sexy & deep your voice is." I hung up. Then burst into laughter. This summer could possibly have a turn around...
