Clara didn't know what any of his family was saying, and she was lost into the conversation and she hated that feeling.
The feeling that they were talking about her.
"Non! Arrêtez!" Antoine shouted making his family members stop, they had been talking about Clara since the minute they met her and Antoine wasn't having any of it.
"God," Antoine said under his breathe running his fingers through his hair.
"You know for once just for you guys I bring a girl home and this is the reaction I get? So what she's American! Does it matter? Because it shouldn't." Antoine said in English finally breaking the French conversation up so Clara could understand what was going on.
His mum sighed looking at him, "there's nothing we have against her."
Clara felt awkward having a family just blurt out their expression about her, she's never heard someone confess about her face to face when they just met her.
"You know we shouldn't judge on the first appearance on how they look." Clara said looking at his mum and dad.
"So what I'm American? What's bad about it?" Clara asked waiting for a response but their was none so she continued.
"Is it because I can't speak French very well? You know English is my first language as well as Spanish. So va te faire foutre, bitches." Clara said getting up and leaving the house.
"Wait! Clara!" Antoine called out running after her.
"Clara, you can't leave." Antoine said rushing over to her.
"But I can." Clara turned around to face Antoine.
Antoine sighed stepping closer towards her, their faces inches apart but their bodies so close, they fit perfectly together. It was almost like solving a puzzle and Antoine was close to solving it, but Clara wasn't, something held on to her heart that was from the past. She couldn't change her heart for Antoine, she loved him no doubt about it but something held her back.
"What if I got down on both knees and begged you to stay." Antoine said rubbing his thumb up and down her cheek while his hand held the back of her head, she was too beautiful for him, he felt she was out of his league by far.
"I don't know, your family just doesn't like me—"
Antoine's lips cut her off, she was shocked and almost pulled back but something stopped her, hips lips fit so perfectly against hers, there was a spark she had never felt with someone else making her kiss back.
Antoine released slowly, "don't go."
"I won't."
