We were about 30 minutes away from the cabin when I got a text from Stefan.

" Hey beautiful!"

I blush then look at josh who is on the phone with his mom asking when he turns.

"Hey!"

He doesn't read it instantly so I just jump to conclusions. Maybe he bumped into someone cuter and forgot about me.

We reach the cabin, I stay in the car for a little bit waiting to see if maybe he'd text back. I get out of the car and walked inside the cabin. It smelt so good like salmon and broccoli. I walk to the kitchen seeing Rachel and Damion. His parents are so sweet and they are so supportive of us. I walk up stairs looking for a bathroom and I saw Chloe and her boyfriend making out on the bed, I rubbed my eyes and kept searching. I grabbed my bikini out of the bag and my shorts and slipped those on, I then grabbed my sunglasses and set them on the counter. I pulled my hair up in a messy bun. I got a text from Carter

" Sorry I took so long to respond I was just driving to a lake to go boating with my family."

I smiled cause I was so happy he responded. I open the bathroom door and head down the stairs not looking up from my phone texting

" Lol that's fine, where are you going boating?"

I bump into Josh, I quickly put my phone away but he grabs it out of my pocket, he looks at it for awhile them looks at me.

" Who's Carter ?!"

I look at him, I didn't know what to say so I made up something. I grabbed my phone out of his hand and said

" Its my cousin."

" Why is he calling you beautiful then?!"

I look at Josh, that's a really good question.

" Inside joke."

I smile then walk away. I end up falling asleep on the couch, I look at my phone and I have about 10 text and only one of them is from Carter.

" Ridge Lake."

I quickly respond.

" Same!!!"

I sit up wanting to get a drink of water, I look out the window and everyone is out on the dock. I look at my phone and Carter replayed.

" Maybe I'll see you there."

" Maybe!"

I set my phone down grabbing a water out of the fridge, my phone starts ringing its my dad, I don't answer instead I just turn off my phone putting it in my bag. I head outside and I see Josh, he runs to me and picks me up I laugh, he kisses me but I don't kiss him back. We get to the boat and Damion starts driving it Will take about 10 minutes to get to where we can boat. I grab my phone out of my bag turning it on and I see I got 5 text, I look at them and they are all from Carter but one which is from my dad, I ignore it, instead I reply to Carter.

" I'll try."

He wanted me to meet him on the beach at 8 tonight but how do I tell josh? I put my phone away and josh looks at me then ask

" Who's that?"

I lie and say its my dad when it wasn't. I feel so bad for lying to him I never lie to him about anything and we have been together since 8th grade. I take a deep breath and close my eyes just listening to the water.
