*RING*
The dreaded sound by those who must endure hours of isolation and learning. Some students moan and groan, some run to class to be the first, some never show up in the first place but, none of these describe one teen.
X Jason Monroe, child with issues. No one knows where he came from, what he does, or even what he likes but one thing is for sure, he was not to be messed with.
He moved to Illinois for a nurse's position proposed to his mother. He was scared of his mother and followed her words and threats like a dog to it's master.
He walked into class and found his home in the back of the class, away from human contact and sight. He had put his headphones into his ears and turned up his volume to deafening intensity to make sure he wasn't bothered, and laid his head on his desk to avoid all eye contact.
He was awoken from his seclusion by a sharp gab to his right rib and looked up slowly with no sign of pain or concern and to his surprise he saw a girl with the complexion of the goddess and the voice of an angel.
"I'm sorry for the hit but, the guys over there said it was the only way to get your attention,"
X sat there and looked dumbfounded into her eyes like it was the first time he had ever seen a girl, getting lost in her green eyes like they were a plain of beautiful and lush grass. And her hair much like long fields of wheat, ready for the picking. A gleam in her eye covered with a pair of glasses, she was perfect.
"My name is Lucy... Lucy Sapphire and I need someone who is familiar with the rules and layout of this school. See... it's my first day and I don't want to get lost and mess up my soon to be perfect attendance."
"I see," X complied with a forced smile to make it seem like he cared about her story.
"Don't fake anything around me, I see the pain and suffering in your eyes," Lucy said with both sternness and kindness.
X's smile immediately fled from his face like a herd of bison from preying lions on the hunt.
"But it is ok, you're cute and I believe I can help" Lucy said with a wink.
X opened his mouth to speak but as redness began to cover his face and ears, he covered his face by wrapping his arms around his ears and sat it on his desk to avoid embarrassment.
"I know I am being very broad and direct but, you look like you need help and someone to be by your side because i see you have no friends." Lucy said while placing her hand on X's right shoulder.
Lucy looked over the class and everyone else in the other side of the room talking and laughing with their friends. It almost seemed like both Lucy and X were in the shadow of the room but Lucy gave a radiancy to X's darkness.
X quickly jerked his shoulder and Lucy moved her hand in scarce for her life,
"I don't care who you think you are but you don't know the half of things I have been told or seen in my life." X began to get red from his reaction, "My father told me before he left ten years ago that I was born to live and die alone." X hide his face quickly and began to softly weep.
Lucy sat down next to X and tenderly kissed his cheek and whispered into his ear softly, "It's ok," she placed her hand on his thigh gently and continued to whispered in his ear, "I was told the same..."
