I check the wall clock in the classroom with cinder block walls, It reads 1:45 pm. I groan loudly, I look to my best friend, Harry, and he smiles at me, and then my phone buzzes. Two new messages. One from dad, one from Harry. I quickly open the one from dad, it reads "I hate to tell you this. Mom has to work the night shift again...sorry hunbun. Let's get Chinese tonight :) Have A good rest of the day -love Dad" My mom is a RN at the hospital. and my dad works from home so I see him all the time. and the there's my sister, Remmi and her bummy boyfriend Miles. I've always been closer to my dad then my mom. She's always working, but my dad thinks she's cheating. I here them yelling all the time at night. Suddenly, my phone buzzes again. 2 messages from Harry. The first reads, "Hey love. want to go to a movie after school? xx-H"
the second reads ,"Make sure you tell your dad"
I look to him with a smile and send back a yes and I watch his emerald eyes light up.
Harry is my best friend, everyone thinks he likes me all my friends are completely convinced. Even my sister is completely convinced. If we dated nothing would really change, there would just be kissing, and a lot more stuff, but I don't think he likes me.
The 3:00 bell rings and I head to my locker. I'm at my locker putting my books up and I suddenly feel arms wrap around my waist and a head on my shoulder. "Hi Brinn" I giggle. "Hi Harry" "Are you almost ready love?" "Yes I just need to go lock my car. I'll go lock it and then meet you out there." He frowns. "No, I'm going with you." Harry has always been really protective over me, especially since I'm 5'2. He's always been somewhat of a protecter.
We head to Harry's black SUV, he opens my door for me and then jogs around to his side.
"Did you tell your dad that you're with me?" He'll be fine I replied back with a laugh. I go to turn on the radio, and Harry grabs my hand. We stop at a red light, and he ejects a CD, he goes to put it up and I grab it from him. "it reads for Brinn, love H" What is this I say with a smile. "oh um it's nothing." ok sure I replied.
He just laughed. After the movie, We head towards my house, We pull up the the two story, stone house. With a robins egg blue door and black shutters. We start to head up the long drive way, I yell stop to Harry. I quickly hop out of the car and run the rest of the way, with Harry trailing behind me. There's 6 cops in my drive way and I see and hear my dad crying. I run up, "Dad what's going on?!" He runs to me and gives me the biggest hug ever. "Honey I was so worried about you. You can never do this again!" Harry's cuts in, "I'm sorry sir she was with me. We were seeing a movie." My dad just smiles, "Harry stay for dinner" Harry smiles. I run through the house and up the stairs to my loft room with black walls and Christmas lights everywhere, with Polaroid picture and photo booth strips of me and Harry. I take off my school clothes off just leaving me in my bra and underwear, then I catch my self in the mirror. I've always been insecure about my body and I used to cut some. I start tearing up some, and then I notice Harry standing in the door way. He walks to my closet,knowing what he's going to do, grabs a pare of sweatpants and one of his old t shirts that he gave me. He hands them to me and says, "you're beautiful love"
