Alex decided that we will go for a walk, down the road and around the willow tree. Our favorite spot to hang out together. I grab my fathers watch off the nightstand right before I slip on my sneakers. I run out the door with my jacket and pull it over my head.

                      **********
When we get there I check the time. It's 1:44. I sit and count the that seconds go by. My eyes are closed and my head, leaning on the tree. "One. Two. Three. Four..." One by one I whisper them out loud.
"...eighteen. Nineteen. Twenty..." I continue. The counting helps as I slip away from existence. I slip away from real life. I slip away from my problems and my fears and what really matters.
Nudging my softly he whispers in my ear, "You okay, Meredith?" He never calls my by my real name. But today he did.
"I know you are thinking about her..." He paused, "And what happened, but you know what? I miss her, too."
I knew he was telling the truth. I saw it in his eyes. We both miss our little Isabel. He hugged me tightly. The last thing I remember is falling asleep in his embrace.
I got woken up. He is carrying me and running.
"What are you doing?!"
"Check the time! We are late and you you know Mum will kill us if she finds out we are gone again! You know this."
'7:52' The clock reads.
"One... Two... Three..."
