Kate's P.O.V

You awoke to the sound of scratching at the door. Amu.

You looked over at the clock to see that it was 7:30ish, and figured your mom was probably already headed off to work. After a moment you finally got up and let your cat, Amu, out of the room and followed after her. You immediately headed to the bathroom to brush out your hair and put it up in a ponytail as usual.

You went and made yourself breakfast, some eggs and maple bacon. After you finished cooking, you looked out the window to see that no one else was home. Your mom always left early for work, your dad worked multiple days at a time, and your brother had gotten his drivers license recently so he was gone doing something. Either way, you liked being home alone. It meant you didn't have to stick to the boundaries of your room anymore. You quickly ate breakfast, while texting your best friend, Kasey.

"GOOOOOODDDD MORNINNGGGGGGGG POTATOOOOOOOO"

You text her, the widest smile appearing on your face instantly.

You continued to talk to her as you finished breakfast and fed your hungry little cat, Amu. After feeding her, though, you realize something. The package!

You need to check if it arrived today. You immediately slip on your everyday tennis shoes, only to find that the package was right at the door. There it was. The package you had ordered a couple weeks ago.

An entire crate of Japanese snacks! You bring it inside and quickly open it to see a variety of different snacks, Amu peering in the box beside you. You tried a few of them before putting the crate up- you had more to do today than just eat up all of the snacks you'd just received. You had to get packing.

You headed off to your room and began packing for the week long trip to your best friend's place in Virginia. You made sure to pack everything on your check list.

•Clothes- And don't forget to bring your "Taters Before Haters" shirt. You absolutely need it.

•Tech- If you didn't have your phone, you'd honestly die. So you need your phone, charger, and earbuds.

•Sketchbook- You love to draw, and can't survive a day without this thing.

•Pokemon Cards- Why not? You guys can totally have a Pokemon battle!

•Hygiene Equipment- Definitely. Don't wanna stink the entire time you're there do you?

•Stuff for Amu- You're bringing her along, so of course you need some stuff to take care of her.

•Gift for Kasato!- You decided to make your best friend a K shaped pillow with this adorable pattern on it, and will give it her when you arrive.

•Snacks!- Definitely need some of these.

After hours of checking, double checking, and even triple checking your check list, packing everything, you look to see the time. 6:34. You figured you should probably go ahead and at supper then go to sleep, since you have to get up at 2 AM to catch the plane, so you need all the sleep you can get. You quickly make yourself a TV dinner, eat, take a shower, and go to bed, excited to meet your best friend tomorrow.

At 2 AM you are awoken once more by your dad, who's back from his shift. "We need to get going. Hurry up, get dressed and grab your things."

You nodded as he left the room and quickly got dressed and grabbed your bags as instructed. You headed out to your dads truck, followed by Amu. Eventually, you arrive at the airport and board the plane, taking Amu with you. You sit down in your seat and message Kasato, even though she's probably not awake yet.

"ON THE PLANE, COMING ON OVER TO VIRGINIA!!!!"

You put your earbuds in and start listening to ponponpon, the English cover by JubyPhonic, which is your absolute favorite song.

 You smile as the plane takes off, and you stare out the window, excited to meet Kasato.
