*Louis' POV continued*
*Flashback*
It was a very important day for me and my band, we were going to be competing against other local bands. We had no idea what to expect since they were all from different districts. As we walked into the venue, the deafening sound of guitars being tuned and drums being banged filled our ears. We proceeded to check in, "name of the band?" the man at the sign in table asked. He was a tall, heavy man with a long snow white beard and he had a skull tattoo on his left arm visible from the sleeveless leather jacket that he was wearing. "The Rogue" we answered in unison, after checking in, we took our seats and the show soon began.
"WELCOME TO THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS !!! " the announcer yelled, sending the crowd into a wild frenzy. "We welcome the first band of the night, The White Eskimos!" he roared. The crowd slowly died down as they walked up on stage."I'm Harry and we are the White Eskimos!" slow rock music starts playing and the faint sound of drums fills room. The beat begins to speed up and the lead singer, who identified himself as Harry, began to sing. His loose curls were being held in place and away from his face by a red bandana. He commenced to sing into the microphone while bobbing his head to the rhythm, sending his curls into a up and down motion following the movement of his head.
As they continued to play I found myself beginning to tap my foot at their rhythm while singing along the familiar melody.
I focused my eyes on the lead singer and at one point he spotted me and flashed me a heart warming smile. I took it as a nice gesture and returned an equally warming smile. Before I knew it, the song had ended and the crowd clapped and cheered as the White Eskimos made their way off the stage. "Next band getting ready to perform is The Rogue !" the announcer called out.
My band mate tapped my shoulder and brought me back to reality and we made our way up to the stage. I quickly scanned the audience for those set of curls but was unable to spot them so I began to sing. When our band had finished performing the audience gave us the same cheers and wave of claps as we walked off and joined them to finish watching the next acts. When all the acts had gone up and performed the announcer was brought back out and was joined on stage by all the acts to announce the winner. I was devastated to find out our band hadn't won but to my surprise neither had the White Eskimos.
When the trophy was given to the winning band, everyone began to make their way out of the venue. I went into a frantic search looking for the lead singer of the White Eskimos, Harry, so that I could tell him how I enjoyed their performance. When I was unable to find him I joined my band mates and we packed up all our equipment and drove off.
*Flashback ends*
"Well I'll see you around mate, it'll be my turn to go up and audition soon" Harry told me as he was walking out of the bathroom. "Good luck" I called out and with that, Harry disappeared into the massive crowd awaiting to audition and I was left alone in the bathroom.
